Rioli is a risk but a good risk

He could do a lot of damage from not many possessions

I don't know much about butler. Hopefully he smashes it in the Vfl and forces his way in soon
Then he grabbed two chopsticks and stuck them in his mouth , pretending to be a walrus

Ideally we play both together and help them create a chemistry similar to Ballantyne and Walters. :pray

Obviously Rioli could be anything.....but Butler looks as good as any of last year's crop to me....bigger body and can rotate through the middle too....which Rioli isn't even close to being able to do yet....

Ideally we play both together and help them create a chemistry similar to Ballantyne and Walters. :pray

Yes that's the ideal scenario in the near future.....

Thoughts on Daniel's debut last night?

Looked better as the game went on. Think he was open a few times and probably needs to command the ball more, but that'll come with time.

Was both disappointed and pleased at the same time to see him take the advantage off Jack and stuff it up.

Pleased he took the game on and backed himself in.

Disappointed he didn't sum up the situation better.

His tackle was fantastic. Solid debut for a player who still looks about 15 years old.

^^^ Yep

Long way to go but some really positive signs

Excellent tackler for his size

A few of his seasoned teammates should take note

His pressure was extraordinary.  At one point chased 4 separate carlton players from the wing back to our forward line and hassled them all. Fantastic solo effort while the rest of the team looked on.....

As the game went on he Looked more composed than a fair few of his more experienced teammates. As has been said, his defensive pressure is incredible

Rioli also genuinely chases, puttin pressure on the opposition backline as they are going thur the motions switching in the backline

Where as other blokes just jog / pretend to run

Great tackling. He will play all year based on last night. Should have had about 3-4 but you could tell when he got the ball he was trying to play the set game plan. Should have just been a bit more selfish.

At the end of the game, did I see Rioli with a bandaged hamstring?

Still think he's not ready for the AFL but showed plenty of long term promise. Should hopefully be tha forward pressure guy we've been crying out for.
