A win is four points.  The team was underdone.  Carlton's pressure was first class.  Dunno how we managed to win the tackles.

Thought i would never say this but I hope we lose this game. We have been so deplorable i am really interested to hear the coaches spin on this one.

You must be disappointed

You must be elated we have rebuilt over 7 years to win by 9 pts over the wooden spooners

premierships won in March are they

Not at all, was a disgraceful effort from the majority

But I still want to win. Someone saying they want the team to lose seems absurd to me

3 players under 10 games. 7 or 8 under 50. lots of improvement to come.

Upside: c Ellis and menadue looking like players. Every time kamdyn breaks the lines we score. Need more of that.

Carltank getting praised for their young team, the irony is that we were 12 months younger on average ...   ;D

Worst Richmond team selected since the Melbourne debacle last year.

We looked gone - not once but at least 3 times.

Lambert was fantastic. Lloyd must play every week. He just kicks goals.

Still unconvinced Astbury is a better option than Chaplin.

Houli and Brandon Ellis were very ordinary

Cotchin looked second rate compared to Murphy .

Rioli is not ready.

Carlton is no longer the basket case they were last year.

I honestly can't believe we got out of jail . Just relieved we have four points.

Frustrating win, simply because of the usual's, skill errors below every other team, game plan is highly volatile and the opposition knew it.
BUT! We won and there are many positives out of it as well.
A few mentions from posters of beating the wooden spooners.
That carlton team tonight were not a wooden spoon team, last year was last year, it's dead and buried, get past it. Carlton played much better than their entire year last year with a lot more structure etc etc.
Richmond still should have won by 10 goals no doubt about that.
I do hope the Tigers learn from tonight, but fearful that they won't.

All in all I am most certainly glad we won and loved it, especially because my kids were sitting with me who don't see what adults see, they just see a win and we got to sing the greatest footy song of all, so  :gotigers :thumbsup :cheers

Amazing when you look at Carlton. 4 number 1 draft picks running around.

Was it just me or did we seem like we were running in treacle tonight? The focus has been to introduce speed into our game but everything appeared to be in slow motion, I guess fumbling three times with every possesion doesnt help.

Carlton played out of their skins and would've given most sides a contest tonight, their list , a bit like Port's when Hinkley took over, is perhaps not as bad as everyone thinks - we'll see once the initial  boost of a regime change wears off I guess ..but there were plenty of worrying signs for us - most of them still worryingly familiar after 6 full seasons and into our 7th , but one or two  good ones as well......good to see some of the depth stand up for once ...blokes like Lambert & Lloyd -both of whom who I've never really rated (and still won't until they consistently perform).....Menadue will be a star, Rioli's tackle, C.Ellis showed glimpses of his class and will only get better........ Martin looks set to explode... ..Rance just keeps getting better ...freak.....while there's no doubt we were fairly putrid at times and only a true imbecile would argue otherwise,  it's never not good to beat Carlton....

Anyway we'll soon find out if this was the kick up the arse we needed or the shape of things to come....
