not everyone, Melbourne were never behind us.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

Yahweh? or the great Clawski?

The Barometer - Round 2

Herald-Sun
March 28, 2016

RICHMOND

ON THE BLOCK:
More injury problems at Tigerland with Shane Edwards — who almost missed with a shoulder injury — breaking his hand late in the scratchy win against Carlton. He’s out for next week at least, and Damien Hardwick has confirmed Brett Deledio won’t play this week either. Kamdyn McIntosh and Corey Ellis could be in danger based on low stats output; Steven Morris barely touched it but might be needed for a job on a small forward like Alex Fasolo.

ON THE CUSP: Shaun Grigg should be available and Richmond will be hoping Ivan Maric is fit to play after missing Round 1 with a back problem. Shaun Hampson’s tap work was pivotal in the Tigers’ final quarter surge but his set shot effort from 25m directly in front highlighted the deficiencies in his game. Emergencies Andrew Moore, Taylor Hunt and Troy Chaplin are ready if needed; Ben Lennon didn’t make the 25-man squad on Thursday night but he seems a natural fit for Edwards’ half-forward spot.

AL PATON’S FORECAST: Richmond hardly set the world on fire in Round 1 but given the lack of Deledio and Maric and the surprising fact the Tigers fielded a younger line-up than Carlton, the result could have been a whole lot worse. They took four invaluable points but they will need to up their game significantly against the Pies, starting in the midfield where Trent Cotchin, Dustin Martin and Brandon Ellis were all beaten by their Carlton opponents.

and the surprising fact the Tigers fielded a younger line-up than Carlton,

Surely not, that doesn't fit in with certain posters agendas though

I think that article needs to be snipped

Also amazing how posters didn't think our mids were beaten :whistle
DIMMA - You will be held ACCOUNTABLE...

“We are really excited about what we have brought in. We have got great depth of players that can take us where we need to go. We are just putting some cream on the top at the moment,” he said.

Shaun Hampson is the No.1 man"

I think it's time to send McIntosh to half back permanently. Vlastuin then goes to the back pocket.

Grimes  Rance  Vlastuin

McIntosh Astbury Houli

I would bring in Butler for Morris. That's a big plus for the side immediately!
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Re: midfield battle

We got slaughtered.

Cripps crushed us and Murphy was running rings around our guys, unchecked all game. Lambert was solid for us and besides that I thought we were pantsed. Going sideways and backwards like always.

Carlton looked fast and dangerous, always creating loose men and space. They really kicked themselves out of it and probably ran out of legs with their young list and blokes like Murphy having no pre-season. They lost the game for us.

:clapping Agreed, Murphy killed us for most of the night.

I will say that Cotchin and particularly Martin came to the fore in the last quarter. Martin bullocked his way out of packs on more than a few occasions (the way only he can) and Cotchin had some good touches. Perhaps the interchange cap will suit a guy like Martin towards the end of the game, where his strength will be a factor?

I would like to see Butler but Butler should be playing as a forward not in the backline.

With only 2 possessions, it doesn't matter where you think Morris played!
