Interesting hypothetical...

if Dowler had fallen to 8...he would have come to Richmond but

would have Miller taken a Dowler Hughes combo or passed on Hughes at 24 to nab a midfielder.

If we had taken Dowler at 8 and Hughes had been available at 24? Good question!

I'm thinking it would have taken a LONG time for us to use that pick if that situation had come around.

I still reckon we would have taken Hughes as the best midfielders (read first round midfielders according to Miller's rankings) were gone by then. With each pick we went with Miller's rankings of best available talls and smalls around our picks. We were planning to take Casserley at 24 but Hughes was still around so we picked him up and still got Casserley at 40.

I heard Dowler on SEN a couple of days ago, he sounded pretty switched on.

He would be spewing about not coming to us as he barracks for the Tigers >:(

Dowler sposed to be training the house down for the Hawks.

Came back from his injury much faster and better than they thought he would.

Collingwood is on my hit list, they screwed up our chances of getting Dowler by taking Thomas at 2. This meant the Hawks were going to take Ellis rather than Kennedy at 3. And after taking a mid at 3 they were than targeting our main man Dowler at 6. If Collingwood had followed the trends and taken Ellis at 2, Dowler would probably be having preseason training with us.
