This game will be lost because our drafting has been woeful, our players crap themselves under pressure and the coach is clueless. Hunt won't make a difference either way

Couldn't agree more, dropping crap to bring in crap won't make a bees fart of difference, the issue is the cattle and it's just not there apart from our top bracket

The Team

B:  Astbury, Rance, Chaplin

HB:  Vlastuin, Houli, B. Ellis

It's probably been mentioned but I cbf going through the thread but Rance aside how bad is that back line comprising of soft, poo scared, out of form, slow, plodders.  All we need is Hunt to be the spare in defence to round out that lot of spuds.

I can deal with Moore as we gave him a life line and should at least give him a try.

I can't deal with Hunt's selection. He played one of the worst games I have seen by a senior AFL footballer the game before last. I don't care if he had 100 possessions in the VFL last week. He can't be rewarded with a senior recall after just one week. Add to the fact that he is not the future as he has little upside and it makes the decision even more unbelievable. And poor Short gets the chop...... :banghead

This sounds suspiciously like an opinion piece.
Wow how you've grown!  :clapping

Now leave the opinions to the big boys son.

Short is outstanding in his first game and kicks 3 goals.

His team mates ignore him in a quiet second game and he is dropped.

WTF is going on down there?

Disagree that team mates ignored.  Last week i saw him in no mmans land half a dozen times on the hbf. Not sure what he was supposed to be doing but didnt look good.
I dont agree that one game seals your fate but by the looks of selection its not because a bad game.

Doesn't help when you lay a good chase down tackle and not one team mate gets around you. Selfish bunch of mates looking out for each other

Agree with sentiments that this game will be lost because of team selections. Hardwick's failure to stick with Youth in dropping Short and his decision to bring Hunt in whose skill level is questionable when the team needs skilful players shows very poor judgement.

If they are going to bring someone in despite poor skills and decision making, why not give Castagna a run at it? Might not quite be as good as Hunt defensively in theory (very debatable) but from what I can tell he isn't a poo scared little girl which more than makes up for it. Factor in the potential and surely Castagna deserves the nod?

100% agree.
And there is no doubt Castagna would give you more attack when we have the footy.
I thought this was his week, that's what makes the Hunt decision even more disheartening.

I agree should try Castagna and see whether he is upto it then revert back to someone who is not.

I can see why they haven't picked castagna instead of hunt.

He'd quite possibly do ok off half back, then next week he would be played in the forward pocked and struggle, and then the football challenged hunt would come in for him the next week anyway.

They have basically just streamlined the process and achieved in one week what would have taken three. Quite smart actually.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

Final teams are in for #AFLEaglesTigers.

Priddis is out for the Eagles and has been replaced by Hutchings.

No changes for the Tigers.
