Giving it away: Which clubs are the AFL's turnover kings?

RICHMOND

Turnovers have been the biggest flaw in the Tigers' game this season and the main reason they are 1-3. They are failing to hit targets with handballs and that is leaving teammates to make pressured disposals that have little chance of finding teammates. Too often they're hopelessly out of position once the ball is turned over and their opposition cruise the other way to score. Interestingly, the Tigers have avoided turnovers when not under pressure (ranking third for unforced giveaways), but they crumble as soon as the heat comes.

Points conceded from turnovers in 2016: 69.8 a game (ranked 16th)
Giveaways (turnovers from an error): 109 (ranked 14th)
Most turnovers this season: Bachar Houli (24)
Most points conceded from turnovers: Bachar Houli (38)

It's due to dimmers strategies and game plan.

Caracella and Balmey.

DIMMA - You will be held ACCOUNTABLE...

“We are really excited about what we have brought in. We have got great depth of players that can take us where we need to go. We are just putting some cream on the top at the moment,” he said.

In terms of efficiency could someone please tell who at the club has the lowest efficiency in relation to disposals?

The problem is the definition of efficiency. A small handball to your team mate is 100% efficient but often 100% useless. Same with a kick backwards or sidewards that doesn't open the play for a forward assault.

Put it this way. B.Ellis is going at 83% efficiency this year while Martin is going at 75%. This is where stats can be misleading because I can tell you who I'd prefer kicking the thing

Well put YBB.
It's so true. I'm surprised BEllis isn't going at 100%, that useless prick doesn't even look forward let along kick it forward. 20m sideways or backwards kicks are completely useless and hurt us more than just about anything else we do.... But as long as the CHead doesn't have to put himself on the line, he is happy. Selfish, gutless little a55hole.

Doubt even Hardwick tells him to kick it backwards & sideways every time he has it....and even the dumbest coach wouldn't be directing players to constantly handball to team mates under pressure....let alone pull out of contests and not tackle, chase or harrass...

No, Hardwick picks him because he takes more notice of stats, KPI's and what his computer tells him more than he does the actual match.

Not 100% sure of that MOL.
I think Hardwick looks at stats far too much. So he looks at the fact that Ellis got 39 possessions against the crows and so he gets a pat on the back. The fact that only 6 were contested and he squibbed several contests probably don't even get a mention. He gets another game (or block of games) based on this.
So although Derwood (Copyright Dio) doesn't tell him to do dinky useless kicks or handballs he gets rewarded because of his stats, so he plays accordingly.
