Who's vulnerable in the eight ?
« on: May 31, 2016, 03:46:49 PM »
North
Sydney
Hawthorn
GWS
Geelong
West Coast
Bulldogs
Adelaide

Is the final 8 already set in stone ?

With a nasty draw our prospects appear quite grim.  The above teams have all played exciting footy this year and currently look a class above the rest of the competition.

The good news is history is on our side .

2015  - Collingwood and GWS both 7-3 .....both miss out.
2014 - Collingwood and GC both 7-3....both miss out .

Geelong if I had to have a crack, but in all honesty, none of them.

adelaide is the only one  bc of wins losses, in terms of play theyve been very very good at times this season. Geelong have banked enough wins to hold their spot, doubt very much anyone bar maybe adelaide will drop out

WCE because they can't win away from home
Geelong because I don't think their list is deep enough
North because Petrie is finished and Waite's blue vein of form appears to be over
Adelaide because they're not good enough
Hawthorn on the wrong side of a golden era + Roughead issue

Not that I think we're good enough or anybody else outside the either is, but I consider all these teams to be vulnerable to a downturn in form

None of them look likely to drop out and yet all appear very beatable.

Don't forget Port and Coll arn't in and both aren't far off the mark IMO.

Ruing those losses against Melb and Port at this stage. Collingwood loss will cost us a pos in the 8 in all likelyhood.

Not that I'm overly upset. If we're good enough to beat the top sides then we'll make the 8, and then we really should be pushing for a flag. Anything less than that is disappointing IMO.
