Interchanges / Fitness (lack of)
« on: May 06, 2016, 11:03:15 PM »
According to my Footy live App;

Hawthorn interchange breakdown was 1st-23 / 2nd-2 / 3rd-39 / 4th-5.
Using a total of only 69 interchanges for the match.

Last week Ports interchange breakdown was 1st-0 / 2nd-0 / 3rd-68 / 4th-22.
Using a total 90 interchanges for the match all in the second half.

I think all teams know we are the least fittest team in the league.   :help

Fitness department has failed us too.  :banghead

We average about 22 interchanges per quarter which is standard across all teams in all games played.

It makes much more sense to have less interchanges in the first part of the match when players are fresh and more later when they are tired.....
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

I've checked pretty much every game played and this has only happened against us in the last two weeks.
I think we've been found out as really behind the standard in team fitness.

Well here is no excuse. They have all the facilities & if the club is not pushing the lads to the edge then we will forever be tail sniffers

Have a look in the last qtr us trying to get the ball out of defence. We were stuffed. Pathetic fitness in comparison to other clubs. Not to mention lack of pace.

So we are slow and can't run for long. Hopeless.
Go Tigers!

Speaking of fitness, Hawthorn kicked 11.5-71 to our 2.6-18 in red-time tonight (20 min plus period of quarters).

4. Red-time Hawks
The Hawks' dominance once the clock ticked into red time would have added a few grey hairs to those in the Richmond coach's box. Every time the Tigers looked like they were back in the game, the clock would tick over 20 minutes and the Hawks would get to work. By the final siren, those red time goals added up to 11, with the Tigers kicking two goals in total in those end-of-quarter periods. Maybe it is the Hawks' experience that allows them to keep cool heads and play the quarter out. On the flipside, maybe the Tigers have an issue late in terms. With all aspects of the football department being scrutinised, the fitness staff will be wondering if something has gone wrong.

Well with dimwit in charge with those professional assistants of his what do you expect?? Surprised they got that close.

Just look around at our players and you find the shape on how our fitness is run. Grimes, Conca, Hampson, Yarran to name a few and who could forgot the maric incident when they rushed him back

Bunch of amateurs down there.
