This will not be popular however, Morris was very good last night watching the game live. Gave everything and did some nice things. His courage to leave his man to defend and assist/cover is quality  :clapping

Watch closely and tell me how many goals were kicked by his man after he left him to hit the contest creating the loose ball out the back!
It happened three times in the first half.
If he's going to leave his man to hit the contest he has to kill the contest and though it might look great that he's getting involved it's just not smart football!
I'd accept it if he was marking the ball or pinching it 15 meters away from the contest but 90% of the time it ends up with him found to ground and the ball going straight out the back to a loose player.

Morris is the least of our problems
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

On the contrary - the continued faith in washed-up hacks like Morris who are clearly no longer up to AFL standard, if indeed they ever where, is actually one of our biggest problems.

We have great problems when our least talented players are the ones that try the hardest and never hesitate to put their bodies on the line.... :whistle

....and give up 4 goals in the process - Hawthorn's small fowards kicking 13 between them.....as we head into next year with a bunch of kids having 10 - 30 less senior games experience in them than not only they should have but we'll need them to have...

Morris is more Of an asset to the list than rance or jack? Let's not lose our heads now

just dont move him to half back........ :whistle

How I'd like our team to be set up (based on the players named on the weekend)

B:  Chaplin,
HB:
C: McIntosh, Grigg, Menadue,
HF: Short, Martin, Rioli, Vlastuin
F: Riewoldt, Lloyd, Vickery, Houli
R: Griffiths, Edwards, Miles, Deledio, B. Ellis- must see this line up at all centre square bounces with Grigg
IC: C. Ellis, Hampson, Castagna,

Dropped - we might as well go in 2 players down: Morris and Batch

There is no accountability in our defense at the minute. You never really know who is playing in who. It did look like George was on Breust in the last quarter when he kicked those 3 late goals. George will have to be better than that if he wants a career in the AFL.
I recon if you give a backman a job for the day, they can set themselves and you can actually see how they went at the end of the game. I think Dimma is doing this on purpose so no one person can be accountable for an opposition player. Houli would have been shown up a lot more if we were more transparent.
And I thought Morris went ok last night too. I'd prefer to see the back of Houli, BEllis, Chaplin and Grigg before Morris.

Soft is worse than talentless by a long way....

Unfortunately neither will win us a flag.
