Footscray & Port have proven you can do it in one year. (even if Port have gone backwards again since) both were in arguably worse predicaments than us.

Both sides took longer than one year.
But even if it was 1,2 or 3, the point is it can be done with the right people in place.
And clearly we haven't, not even close.

I meant they both played finals the first year after they sacked their coaches and things were looking grim. There was serious talk of Port folding & even though Footscray had already been rebuilding for a few years they were widely tipped as a wooden spoon contender after all the turmoil & upheaval of their off-season (abruptly sacked coach, captain & best player walks out, Gia retires, Cooney & Higgins leave)- and that was even before they lost Libba for the year in the pre-season.

There is one thing that Akermanis certainly wouldn't lack, and that's the Hunger for success, he is desperate to get into an AFL club, he is a huge personality, probably to big for the weak pee ants to cope with that we have in there currently.

Midfield coach, I'd give him a crack, could be interesting.

I would also look at him. Elite player who could help our mids enormously especially with mental strength.

Damien Hardwick - Senior Coach - Only because the club are going to persist with him.

Brett Montgomery - Senior Assistant Coach

Andrew Collins - Forward Coach

Jason Akermanis - Midfield Coach

Ben Rutten - Backline Coach

Ivan Maric - Ruck Coach

Just an idea.
