Why are our players so unfit?

He is another that could never end the game as strong he started. Talented and tough no doubt but just not able to give a full 4 qtr performance.

I hope we get a new fitness department also as we are miles behind the elite teams.  :banghead

He's not as fit now as he was at the end of his first year....how does that happen?

Anyway...imagine Lethal playing Voss in the backline....because that's pretty the equivalent of what Halfstep is doing with this bloke....

Voss wouldn't let that get to his football. It called pride.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Vlastuin lacks pride? Where do you think his best position is?

I love how people think every footballer is only capable of playing in one position...

I mean he is better as a midfielder, but we needed him down back this year because of injuries.  I reckon he may play mid next year more.

or maybe not since we are getting prestia

Yep.Compared to Voss I reckon he does. If Voss have played sub to Dimma he'd have been the best damn sub there ever was - probably would've saved it as a concept on the back of his performance. I like Vlas but he doesn't hold a candle to the great Michael Voss.

Bit contradictory there fella. he's only a ever played down back so actually most people are advocating him adding a string to his bow playing a second position  ;)

And what do you mean we needed him down back this year, he's been down back for his whole career with us....

Thats the ole Hardwick mentality right there, play a midfielder in defense and stunt his development whilst not playing defenders when opportunity knocks  and stunting their development too.
 :facepalm
The possibility of physical and mental collapse is now very real. No sympathy for the Devil, keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride.

yeah, I'll admit I was wrong on this, he did play down back in recent years, but in recent years our midfield hasn't looked so bad and he played well down back.

this year he should have played mid more but we did need him down back (for this year)

Deledio discussing Vlastuin:

“I think with Nick, we need to challenge him to maybe step up and play some time in the midfield.  I think he’s such a good user of the footy and a good decision-maker and he’s got that hard edge.  He’s pretty tough.”
