Dimma's post match.

20th August 2016. Rich v StKilda Round 22.

A glaring weakness in the Tigers' performance was its tackling pressure, losing the count 42-63, despite St Kilda winning 58 more possessions.
Hardwick, however, said there was "some system to the madness".
"Sometimes we want high tackle numbers, sometimes we're prepared to sit off a bit and let them go certain ways," he said.
"It all interconnects with how you play. We're a low tackle side. Some sides are high tackle, depending on the style of game."

March 23rd 2017. Carl v Rich Round 1.

"Funnily enough our game style is built on defence. Good defence is good offence and I think that's what we saw. A pressure rating of 1.91 which our footy club hasn't seen for a long time. To get 11 goals from forward half turnovers you're going to be hard to beat. That will be our primary focus going forward and we will be in games.
With the addition of some quick players but also Nick Vlastuin had 10 tackles to half time, people might say his possession rate wasn't  high but his influence on the game was massive for mine.
Reece Conca tackled incredibly well and I think Jack had a career high 7 tackles.
But if we continue to get those kind of numbers it's going to be style of game that our fans and our supporters, the players and the coaches will appreciate. It's a good style of game that we like."

Which is why dimwit  is not the man for the job. His a puppet at the moment taking instructions from others around him. It's not a bad thing (short term) but hopefully the club finally sees it and sends his arse packing

Gotta say - despite the impressive numbers techniques are still poor from a lot of our players....still allow too many handballs by not pinning the arms and still get sidestepped too often because they don't watch the hips...

...and Shank is still the worst tackler in the AFL....McIntosh not far behind....

But I'll finish on a positive note -  some of the new blokes & younger blokes look to be better tacklers, hope they can stay that way....

For a contact sport being low in the contact count seems ludicrous to me. One of the new coaches must have a brain.

Our pressure and tackling was great tonight. We had more of the ball yet pleasingly still had 23 more tackles (73-50) than North  :clapping

:clapping you can bang on about playing personnel and talent but it all starts with doing the basics well and you don't need to be talented to run hard and tackle. Great to watch
