Hawthorn dont have anywhere near that many members per se, i can guarantee that they have an edict as a club to make sure they always finish every season as number 1 in the membership stakes so that when it comes time to negotiate sponsorship deals they can always go in with the argument that "this is what your brand will be exposed to, the number 1 membership base year on year etc etc" To do it they have some wealthy supporters who take turns in buying lump sums of 1-2k memberships whenever richmond or collingwood get close to ensure they are always number 1. Hence why their membership bays are always half full even when they were going for a 4 peat. Take away the 10k tassie members and really they are just a middle of the road club numbers wise but are using guile to make themselves look a lot bigger.

:lol
I've been saying it for years. The dawks supporters are the biggest band wagon wankers in the league. Just ask one of them who they supported first.  :rollin

Those turncoats are the most fickle in the league taking off their Footscray, Melbourne, Fitzroy and kangaroos jumpers their parents or grandparents bought them when they were little because they were too gutless and embarrassed to wear it. And because they were special and socially awkward they told the cool kids that they barracked for the Hawks all  during the eighties.
Now those gutless wannabes are now in their 40s and have no real connection to the footy club because they weren't born and bred and so they aren't  that passionate & don't normally attend games and most of them still think Shane Crawford is captain.  :rollin

They really make me sick because they think they know footy because they've seen a premiership or two but deep down their whole footy support is just as fake as Dermott Brereton   :chuck
