i think Melbourne are a lock to make the 8 next year.  I have been impressed with the type of player they have brought in lately.
Unfortunately I don't see us making it. Halfwit has shown to be too stubborn.

Will have a better idea next week when the 2017 draw is released

We will be getting a very soft draw next season.

"Advantage" of finishing so low on the 2016 ladder

Sorry, guys. This is why Richmond won’t play finals in the 2017 (Herald-Sun)

The Herald-Sun is tipping us to finish 15th next year:

Sorry, guys. This is why your team won’t play finals in the 2017 AFL season

Herald-Sun
24 October 2016

RICHMOND

Prediction: 15th Last season: 13th

Fifteenth on the ladder feels perilously low for a big club like Richmond with an under-the-pump coach in Damien Hardwick.

But when you consider they were 13th last season, lost their last game by 113 points and couldn’t hang on to Brett Deledio and Ty Vickery in the trade period, the Tigers look like a fading power.

Prestia and Josh Caddy will add strength to the midfield but it’s Richmond’s bottom four attack which needs addressing.

-----------------------------------

Predicited Finalists (not in order):
Bulldogs, Sydney, GWS, Geelong, Hawthorn, Adelaide, West Coast, St Kilda

9. Melbourne
10. Port Adelaide
11. Collingwood
12. Fremantle
13. North Melbourne
14. Essendon
15. Richmond
16. Gold Coast
17. Carlton
18. Brisbane

Change from 2016 ladder: St Kilda to replace North in top 8.

Lets be honest here, you could throw a blanket over the clubs between 10-15, probably throw melbourne in that group too, bc while they have a fair bit of talent running around, they are a stuffing loser club with an arguably crapper culture than us, so they could just as easily go backwards.

Throw in externals such as draw and injuries and the clubs in this bracket could be in the mix for finals or putting the cue in the rack by rnd 12 looking for a new coach

Is it just me or can anyone else see Hawthorn and Geelong possibly dropping out of the 8?
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Me too,  I expect Norf, cats and hawks to slide, cats are a dangerfield or selwood injury away from missing the 8 imho. Hawks will struggle for the bottom reaches of the 8
