I think his time at the tigers is up but listening to the jake waterman episode of dyl and friends it caught me by surprise that waterman really rated Graham. He said he’s one of the best people you want hitting you up inside 50.

Either way, he will always be a premiership hero to me and hope he finds some form wherever he lands in 2025

I think Riewoldt said the same?

I don't see it though.

No point being the best I50 delivery man if you can only get 7.5 kicks/week on average.

devil's advocate here

Rarely played as a permanent mid in 2024. when he did his hitting up of our fwds was good

He played alot as a defensive forward, so like Mansell and others who played that type of role the possession numbers were low.

TBH I don't think they played him in his best position but het that's just me

When's Waterman ever played with Graham? :huh

It must have been during juniors or a draft camp or something. He spoke very highly of both baker and Graham.

Devils advocate, what is his best position ? Does anyone know ? Because whatever the position is, there are better players there which means he is expendable. If we didn’t acquire Taranto and hopper, Graham would be getting more midfield time, but I just don’t think he’s that good, so is that his best position? An average player who in a good team can make an impact with work rate.

Was a good foot soldier in our dynasty.

Now that we are crap, if we can get a second rounder for him then it’s a no brainer imo. He isn’t as good as our other senior mids and doesn’t provide anything different to a Taranto or Hopper or Prestia type. Think we’re better off blooding youngsters and developing our next midfield core along side those other mids named above.

As much as I loved Anthony miles; prestia was a clear upgrade. I see parallels with as much as I have a soft spot for Graham, Taranto kills him in all statistical categories (except maybe lowering the eyes and hitting up our forwards) and when hopper could get on the park he could definitely get his hands on the ball a lot more than Graham. Graham can’t really play forward or back so he’d be stopping the development of Mcauliffe or sonsie (last chance saloon for sonsie probably).

If only the rest of the team can stick tackles like graham though

If he stays, get him to tag. God knows we need someone to play that role, it may as well be him
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Can't do that, play him in his best position
 :sarcasm

Seriously though...

Seeing that when they used him as a tagger in the Freo game for the 1st half; he kept Serpng incredibly quiet it would appear to be a no brainer. For reasons only the coaches can expain 2nd half we dropped the tag and Serong cut us to ribbons.

IMHO when he tags, he nullifies his opponent and then gets the pill himself, increasing his numbers and impact

Sure, let's sacrifice a midfielder spot to accommodate Jacky G.

Time to move on. Club and his fans

Or even better
We could use him as a tagger every week even if there isn’t a necessity to tag

Tagging could become known as Grahaming

Well tagging isn’t beneath Lions and it’s scored them a GF berth.
Graham or not, I am sick of seeing the oppo best mids run free

We've been getting Graham'd a few seasons too long as it is. Let West Coast experience Grahaming  :shh
