OK. I'm back from Cazaly's, fed and watered, and plugged in to some power. So here goes.
A Suns spy was sitting at the table next to me, so I won't be giving any secrets away. The team came out at five pm and trained for about an hour. The wind was blowing straight down the ground from the Melville road end, just like last year, except it wasn't quite as strong today. Id call it a 2-3 goal breeze. It was very hard to kick a goal into the wind at training.
The squad of 25 were all in attendance plus Jacko and Dusty. In the rehab group were Griff, Titch and The People's Mullet. None of the three looked overly despondent, so there is a chance that all three could get up for the game. Titch joined in a couple of the drills, but the other two didn't do much.
Dusty and Jacko were doing their penance. They were the defenders in all the drills, doing a lot of hard chasing and finished training with eight timed 400's. Jacko set the pace and Dusty kept with him, although he was working pretty hard for the final couple.
Training consisted mainly of moving the ball from stoppages, around the ground, to a leading forward, who then took a shot on goal. Players on both the attacking and defending sides ran patterns, forming either a press or a defensive zone, depending on the play. It was particularly noticable to see the effort the guys without the ball put in to running to position.
Three players who were mentioned as suspect through the week looked fine, Nahas, Newy and Morris trained strongly. Kingy was also at training, with a compression bandage on his knee. He was running 100's, but only in a straight line.
Any questions, fire away.
