For anyone that has been to training recently, is there any hint as to any positional changes or game style changes? in particular our f50 entries under Teague etc?
We've only started game based scenarios over the past two weeks. Having said that we have been working a fair bit on our F50 entries. No long bombs unless it's over the top to a forward waiting out the back. More quick switching by the mids to use the whole F50 to set up targets and more targeted kicks to hit up teammates on the move finding pockets of space amongst a crowded defence. Not sure if this is due to Teague and I haven't seen us play a proper intra-club yet to see this in action under the pressure of an actual match but that's what I have noticed so far JR.

ps. RCD and Ross have been staying back after main training has finished to work with Stevie Morris on their passes to a leading target inside F50. Old school repeat skill training.

Cheers for the update,m this is great, seems we'll be back to moving the ball a bit quicker again this yr & great to hear F50 entries are being worked on, it can't be any worse than last yr, tho quicker ball movement will help.

Tigers key forward Tom Lynch has been recovering from a hamstring injury in recent weeks and is “not far off” a return to training.

Kane Lambert is continuing to manage lingering hip issues, while fellow midfielder Jack Graham is managing a back and hamstring issue.

Back from training this morning. Mini intra-club today. About two 20 minute halves (I missed the first half but got info off my fellow watchers).

Get the absentees, rehab and injuries out of the way first:

- Absent was Dan Rioli.

- In Rehab were:
  * Lynch - moving pretty well and was even kicing set shots at the end of the session. Expect him back into full training next week.
  * Prestia - the newspapers were two weeks behind the times. He's been in rehab the past week  :-\
  * McIntosh
  * Lambert
  * Graham
  * Banks

- Unfortunately, Grimes went down today with a leg injury  :(. Possibly an ankle. Not sure how severe it is either. He was carried off by two trainers.

Intra-club:

The teams were split into blacks and greys. The Blacks had numbers so they were easier to point out unlike the greys. So I might not have everyone correct but it's close enough.

Black Fwds: Balta*, Caddy*, Castagna, Cumberland, Edwards, Stack.
Grey Defs: Biggy, Brown, Ralphsmith, Miller.

Black Mids: Nankervis, Balta*, RCD, Aarts, Martyn, Pickett, Caddy*, Dusty*
Grey Mids:  Soldo*, Ross, Parker, Dow, Clarke, Sonsie, Bolton*, Cotch.

Black Defs: Tarrant, Gibcus, Vlastuin, Broad, Mansell, Short
Grey Fwds: Riewoldt, Soldo*, Baker, M.Rioli, Bolton

Those with asterisks played multiple positions.

Balta - played key forward and 2nd ruck. Not sure if the move forward is permanent or just temporary given Lynch is injured.
          Gave us the highlight of the day with a huge hanger  :o 20m out from goal.

Dusty - didn't seem to have a fixed position. Just did what he wanted as expected. Got through fine so all good.

Gibcus - apparently kept Jack goal less. "Ready made" is the word out of the club. Not sure if that means Round 1 ready (?) but the trainers rate him and Tom Brown highly.

Clarke - based on today good luck working out if he is a left or right footer. Okay he's a left footer but he was nailing everything on both sides.

Bests (in no order): Broad (BOG for mine across HB), Balta, Floss, Ross, Stack.

Other things:
George was practising his straight line running set shots rather than his usual around the body attempts.

Any question just fire away?

RICHMOND

SHOW US YOUR SKILLS

Slick skills have been on the agenda and former Carlton coach David Teague has also brought some offensive flair after being added as an assistant coach.

Riewoldt said the team's game style would not change drastically but there had been particular focus on honing skills.

BACK FOR JACK

Premiership player and captaincy candidate Jack Graham was restricted to walking laps on Thursday as he battles mild back and hamstring issues. They aren't expected to hamper his preparations.

TOM TO BE TIP-TOP

Premiership forward Tom Lynch has been battling a hamstring issue but has been back to play in round 1 - and maybe sooner. He was on light duties on Thursday's main session and should feature in the pre-season series.

SOLDO ON SONG

Big Ivan Soldo is back after his knee reconstruction and he looked in top shape in Thursday's training session. He appeared to have added some size since his knee injury.

Melbourne has a 7 min video of their match simulation last week on website.  Puts our pathetic 1minute clips to shame.
