Training today was a coolish but sunny Punt Rd. It was a full list training session with only Paddy, Razor and Cogs absent. I didn't notice Harts out there either but I might have missed him. Polo, Tambo and Browny did the whole 1.5 hours session.
In rehab were Simmo, Cass, Knobel and Patto and Thursty. It looked like they were only giving the latter two a rest. Knobel and Cass did some straight line running on the Punt Rd side of the ground before joining the others for some handball and kick to kick. We asked the fitness coordinator about Cass and he said he has a low grade hammy which should only see him miss a week. He said it was a shame as Cass had a few setbacks during preseason but before the latest hammy he had had 9 good weeks straight.
Not too much to report training wise. Basically similar to last week. Some rebounding run and carry and foot passing and some one-on-one over the ground work. Probably the only notable difference was there seemed to be more emphasis on the defensive side of our game as team with focus on players pushing back to fill the space of the opposition's key forward. Maybe a plan for Jonathan Brown. If I'm not mistaken I think Monky was acting as the forward. David King would yell out to the defenders to work as a team. I noticed Edwards got told once what was he doing and to get back and he hurrily ran back into defence to the spot between the ball coming in from the wing and the forward. Apart from that the gameplan for this week looks pretty similar to last week - keep the ball moving quickly and take them on.
Any questions just fire away.
