The RFC site about a week ago said there would be a public training session this morning (Monday 30th March @ Vic Park) but it's been taken off the site. That may still be on but they aren't advertising it anymore.

Haha...they were a bit concerned it would turn into a public demonstration session.  Or maybe they just canned training completely.  They train their ass off and still play like crap so they might as well not bother training as it couldn't get any worse.

;D

The old fashion way would be to train them into the dirt to make up for the lack of effort during the game.

Cotch running and continuing his way back  :pray is the main news out of training anyway. The rest of the team can only prove themselves and regain some respect on the weekend.

Training today was at Vic Park this morning from 11am to about 12.30pm. Pretty warm day for April too. Steven Wright and Francis Jackson were both there watching.

In rehab were Cotch and Sugar from what I saw. No sign of Cuz or Raines. I didn't notice Gourdis out there either. Sugar once again didn't do anything but watch which explains why he is now on the LTIL. Cotch did more running today. He looked like he was limping at one stage but Francis said he's just got ice on his ankle and he was running and kicking the footy on Tuesday so he's coming good. Blingers only did about 1/2 to 3/4 of the session and did some handball, kicking and marking along the boundary. I think he's fine though. Foley went to a trainer midway through the session about his sprained ankle and sort some treatment but he returned about 5-10 minutes to main training so he's thankfully okay.

As for training itself they did the usual handball and kicking drills before spliting into two teams and having mini scratch matches to work on gameplan matters. Closed session so I can't say anything specific although applying pressure was mentioned more than once or twice by the coaching staff. There were also still the occasional reminder of the horrors of last Thursday night in terms of lazy footskills and lack of shepherding so the proof will be on Saturday. It felt like Hislop's training session at some points as "Tommy" was yelled out a hundred times thoughtout the scratch matches....."Good Tommy", "make him be accountable to you Tommy", "Tommy that was a great kick", etc lol. As for the scratch matches I thought Tucky was best and in everything both inside and spreading out to receive the footy. Rance looked good too using his height and agility. Browny and Lids didn't miss one target. It was good to see Connors back into full training as well. Francis rates him highly.

I've heard the club has organised a special extra boxing group for the younger guys to help boost their physicality and having the confidence in using it. They got some guy in who sounded like he wasn't just into boxing but also martial arts. Anyway he had Putty in the ring with him, then turned his back to Putty and told him to try as hard as he could to choke him. As you've probably guessed this guy got out of the situation fairly easily. He then reversed roles and poor Putty "struggled" apparently lol. It's not quite running up sandhills like the old days is it  :eyebrow
