Clubs are expecting a flurry of pick swaps late in the trade period. While deals involving players require them to consent to a proposed move, straight pick swaps can be done far more quickly. Ricky Nixon's mail tonight is Miles + a good pick (#17) to Brisbane for Schache.

He compares Schache to Gunston. Adelaide said Gunston was no good and traded him. Gunston goes to Hawthorn and plays in a forward line alongside by Roughead, Cyril Rioli and co. and stars in premiership wins. At Richmond, Schache would get the sixth best defender and be able to peel off into space with Jack Riewoldt attracting the opposition defence's main attention.
