Griff injured not sure if concussion or ribs ? But before that I thought his output was okay, much better than last week.

I actually thought he was worse.

SEN player ratings

David ASTBURY – 4

Took White and had a generally hard night chasing the in-form Magpie. Stuck to his guns.

Dan BUTLER – 3

Eight disposals and a goal, the odd good moment, but things didn’t fall his way quite as they did in Round 1.

Josh CADDY – 5

Played forward a fair bit where he was a presence but managed only one goal. Fair night at the office.

Jason CASTAGNA – 3

Pressure forward bobbed up occasionally but didn’t trouble the scoreboard attendant.

Reece CONCA – 6

Steady game (18 disposals) and stood his strong body under some high balls in defence.

Trent COTCHIN – 8

Tigers’ leading disposal winner (26) and topped hard-edged game with two goals. Last 10 minutes superb.

Shane EDWARDS – 6

Created problems early up forward despite misses; sharked a well-read goal at a stoppage and made a crucial third-quarter intercept.

Brandon ELLIS – 5

Freak snapshot in third term to trigger a momentum swing. Otherwise quiet off a wing.

Ben GRIFFITHS – 2

Speccy in second term but head hit ground after a similar attempt in third. Pretty much summed up his night.

Shaun GRIGG – 5

Unusually unproductive until managed some crucial touches including lovely goal in final term.

Dylan GRIMES – 4

On Fasolo and although barely touched the ball probably took the honours due to the Magpie’s shocking finishing.

Bachar HOULI – 6

Slow start but wound up having a good night charging off half back; even managed a goal pushing forward late.

Kane LAMBERT – 3

Came off the bench to get involved with a dozen disposals forward of centre. Will it be enough to hold his place?

Ben LENNON – 5

Only six kicks and three tackles but seemed more involved than that. Lively at half forward.

Dustin MARTIN – 7

Wearing a shiner after early head clash. Kept in check but his possessions were telling and two late goals buried the Pies.

Toby NANKERVIS – 7

Gave Grundy something to think about, especially with his marking around ground. Tigers have a good one here.

Dion PRESTIA – 5

Puts himself in all the right places, although he often kicked under pressure and missed targets.

Alex RANCE – 6

Good duel with Moore, who he found slippery, but still a strong contributor.

Jack RIEWOLDT – 5

Thrown into the midfield after invisible first half which got him going. Two goals were important to the comeback.

Daniel RIOLI – 5

Worked hard between the 50-metre lines. Pace was a factor – this guy is becoming a player.

Jayden SHORT – 6

Returned in the back pocket, picked up Broomhead and won the contest after conceding some early touches.

Nick VLASTUIN – 5

Lined up on Mayne and had the edge. Went hard at every contest from half back.

Couple of things:-
Sledges to Treloar - who has the best list?
Sledges to Collingwood fans - No Wells, no Collingwood

Great capt game, Dusty chimed in when it mattered, Nank might not be the best trainer but he's our best ruckman.
Great ticker by the whole team to get back into the game in the 3rd qtr.
Forward pressure not like last week but still good.
Teams resolve solid ATM.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

I'd like to add I really liked young Shorts game, he's a lovely kick and shows a clear head with ball in hand.
No more Taylor Hunt plse

Good summary, HRT. It was really pleasing to see us lift ourselves as a team and fight back when we looked gone early in the 3rd.

Shocking first half

Better 2nd

Best bit is when we got 3 goals down, they didn't drop their heads, they kept fighting to get back...haven't seen that for a very long time  :clapping

Great game by Cotchin. Deserves considerable credit for the way he played.

Agreed. Don't think the youngsters can be underestimated here.
Butler and Rioli started taking it on a getting their hands on it a bit, 2 super clutch goals. Castagan seems to get caught a bit but did a couple good things

Is unfairly targeted for the woes of the RFC
