Richmond is seeking the relatives of several deceased premiership players.

These premiership players, predominantly from the Tigers’ VFA era, are to be posthumously awarded life membership of the Club, which the relatives will accept on their behalf.

RICHMOND premiership players from as long ago as 1902 were awarded posthumous life memberships at a special presentation at Punt Road on Friday.

A change to the club's constitution, ratified in April last year, granted life memberships to every player in a Richmond premiership team across the club's history.

A range of players were subsequently recognised on Friday, including members from the club's VFA premiership-winning sides from 1902 and 1905.

Players from VFL-winning teams in 1920, 1921, 1932, 1934, 1943 and 1980 were also honoured at the ceremony, with Tigers president Peggy O'Neal in attendance.

"This is an important, significant day in the history of our club," O'Neal said.

Relatives of the premiership players were in attendance to accept the award on their behalves.
