Richmond has finalised its coaching structure for the 2025 AFLW season, with Chris Muratore elevated to backs line coach, and retiree Tamara Luke re-joining the Club.
Muratore has been the backs line coach for Richmond’s VFL Men’s team for the past two seasons and was also a part of the Club’s AFLW coaching set up in 2024, assisting former back line coach Nathan Chapman.
The former Parkside premiership-winning coach helped lift Parkside from Division 3 of the Western Region Football League to Division 1, initially as a playing assistant coach across 2017-18 and then as senior coach from 2019-23.
Muratore has also been an assistant coach at VFL Men’s team Northern Bullants.
Luke returns to Richmond as a development coach, her first foray into coaching at AFLW level after she announced her playing retirement in November.
The forward/ruck played seven matches for Richmond in 2024, including the elimination final, adding to her 15 games at Hawthorn and St Kilda across four seasons.
Richmond Head of Women’s Football, Kate Sheahan said that both Muratore and Luke were popular appointments among the playing group.
“Both Chris and Tamara are familiar faces around the program and were excellent candidates for these roles across our extensive interview process,” she said.
“Chris has a great understanding of our players and program has great coaching experience and a passion for Women’s Football.
“Tam has also impressed us with her adaptation into coaching and deep understanding of elite sport, in particular her passion for the development space.”
