We must have a halfwit running our AFLW program.

Sansonetti was a talented young footballer.  Far more talent than 3 or 4 girls who remain on the list.

Staggering decision
Well Kate doesn’t have a great track record for spotting talent.
I’m not sure Sansonetti was going to be that great but like you said there are others that could be offloaded well before her.
Bernardi wasn’t a world beater either but she provided some pressure up forward.

If we get real ball winners than maybe there’s a plan.

Are we keeping Molan?   :rollin
The club that keeps giving.

AFLW: Richmond welcomes Steph Williams (RFC)
« Reply #1040 on: May 31, 2022, 06:03:09 PM »
Richmond has secured its first trade of the AFLW Sign and Trade Period with exciting youngster, Steph Williams, joining the Club from Geelong.

In exchange for Williams, yet-to-debut midfielder Ingrid Houtsma will depart Richmond and return to her hometown.

Known for her explosive speed and creativity, Williams can offer coach Ryan Ferguson a dynamic option in all areas of the ground.

Richmond AFLW Recruiting Manager Trent Mosbey said that Williams’ elite athletic traits made her a key target for the Club.

“Steph has genuine pace, excellent goal nous and the ability to break a game open which really excites us,” he said.

“She has shown glimpses of being able to impact at AFLW level and we hope that she will thrive in our Richmond environment and become a strong performing player for us.

“We are thrilled to be able to welcome Steph to the Club because she has so much to offer our program.”

Richmond Four-Way Trade Summary:

IN: Grace Egan, Selection No. 38 Overall (21 Victorian)

OUT: Selection No. 18 Overall (9 Victorian)

The flurry of pick swaps saw Richmond hand over its first-round selection No. 18 overall (9 Victorian) to Hawthorn in exchange for selections No. 30 and No. 33 overall (16 and 18 Victorian).

Picks 30 and 33 were then on-traded to Collingwood for selection No. 25 and No. 38 overall (13 and 21 Victorian), with selection No. 25 (13 Victorian) handed straight to the Blues for Egan.

Richmond now holds selections 38, 52 and 68 at the 2022 NAB AFLW Draft set to be held on June 29.

Now fit and firing, Egan will join fellow youngsters Monique Conti (22), Ellie McKenzie (19) and Maddy Brancatisano (21) in a midfield that will excite Tiger fans for many years to come.

Richmond Head of Women’s Football, Kate Sheahan said that Egan was an important acquisition for the Club.

"Grace is familiar with a lot of the players, coaches and staff already at Richmond, which we think will help her transition into our program smoothly," she added.

"She plays football hard and tough and will complement our midfield brigade well. We are looking forward to seeing what Grace can help us achieve for the upcoming season and beyond.

“We are thrilled to have her back at the Swinburne Centre.”

Welcome back Grace

But let's be honest you shouldn't be coming back. Should have been a Tiger from day 1

Richmond has confirmed a trade with the GWS GIANTS that will see defender Libby Graham arrive at the Swinburne Centre.

In exchange, the Tigers have parted ways with selection No. 68 at the upcoming 2022 AFLW Draft.

Graham, who stands at 176cm has played six games at AFLW level after being recruited as a newcomer to the code from soccer two years ago.

The 25-year-old will help provide key defensive cover in the absence of Harriet Cordner who ruptured her ACL in January.

Richmond AFLW Recruiting Manager Trent Mosbey said that the Club saw huge upside in Graham.

"Libby is a tough, athletic and competitive key defender, who we can see playing on multiple sized opponents," he added.

"She particularly stood out for us playing for Williamstown in the VFLW in 2021, with her attack on the contest and ability to win one-on-ones really catching our attention."

Following an extensive soccer background, Graham has also played football for the Manly Warringah Wolves in the AFL Sydney Women's competition.

Richmond now holds selections 38, 52 and 86 at the 2022 NAB AFLW Draft set to be held on June 29. Graham joins Grace Egan and Steph Williams as inclusions in this AFLW Sign and Trade Period.

Getting Grace Egan back is a good move

But we did have to give up our 1st round draft pick to do it

Weve been left with 38, 52 and 86 in the draft. They got Grace  Libby and Stephanie but unfortunately that isnt enough. This team needed a couple more star midfielders. We will miss the eight again. Theyve left us with no draft picks. I feel so sorry for Conti and Brennan and a few of the girls who can actually play good footy but dont have good enough players around them to make a difference.

As I said theyre playing fantasy league in their and the club deserves better than that from those making the moves.

Should have had her the whole.  Could have prelisted us in our VFL days for free.  Complete stuff up.

Well, there we go.  I'm glad its that simple, makes me wonder why nobody figured out that we just need a few more star midfield players?

Could somebody just get the pencils out & draw one for us?

JP you might like our AFLW team being a joke but they represent our club. The Richmond AFLW program are a joke. In the womens game its simple you get players who can run quick, run the lines and kick it into the forward line. Thats it. They dont have much skill in AFLW. They run around at the moment like under 13s chasing the footy getting nowhere. And when the next AFLW season finishes we will be nowhere again. Trading this year is like theyre playing fantasy league.
