FINAL:

Probs: 25.10.170 :o :o

Possi: 6.5.41

Goalkickers

Probs: Richo 4.3, Pattison 3, Simmo 3, Staffy 3, Rodan 3, Tuck 2, Krakouer 2. Hall 2, Joel Bowden 2, Delidio 2, Tambo 2, Humm & Hyde 1 each

I think we know who'll be playing next week :thumbsup ;D

Think a few of your goalkickers are wrong for the probs. Patrick Bowden had atleast 3 goals (i thought 4) by 3 quarter time.

Both have testosterone flowing X  :rollin

Okay, this is as best as i can get from MT and we've fixed up the goalkickers:

Prob 25.20.170
Poss 6.5.41

Prob:  Richo 4.3, P Bowden 3, Simmo 3, Rodan 3, Krak 2, Joel 2, Tuck 2, Humm 1, Lids 1, Staff 1, Tambo 1, Hall 1, Hyde 1

Poss:  Limbach 2, Staff 1, Hurst 1, Meyer 1, Hughes 1

Johnston – corkie in calf – should be okay for next week.

Best players

Prob - 1st qtr – Richo, Hartigan, Deledio, Sugar (but went off), Rodan, Raines
Poss – 1st qtr – Howat, Limbach (2 goals)

Prob – 2nd qtr – Pettifer, Krak, Lids, Newman, Simmo
Poss – 2nd qtr – White, Moore on Richo, Meyer, McGuane

Prob – 3rd qtr – Newman (started off on half back flank then moved into centre), P Bowden (2 goals), Hartigan (centre), Schultz (rebounding out of defence), Hyde, Simmo
Poss – 3rd qtr – Staff (switched at half time and Jacko went to probs), Jake King (No. 18) – really no-one played well that qtr.

Prob – 4th qtr – Hartigan, Rodan (3 goals), Raines, Krak, Pettifer, Newman
Poss – 4th qtr – Couldn’t find anyone lol – Maybe Hughes on Richo (kept him goalless)

Prob:  Newman BOG in MT’s opinion; Hyde, Pettifer, Hartigan, Simmo, Rainsey (woohoo lol)

Poss: Limbach early, Howat early, White did okay, Polo all right, but didn’t set the world on fire, Jake King

Tambo was very quiet.
Rainsey has improved from last year MT reckons.  Hartigan back to his good form before injury.  Krak getting better – more involved in play and didn’t go missing today; Simmo playing as good as late last year, but didn’t have much competition today.  Still, will give him confidence.  Rodan back to before he did his knee (fantastic).

Improvement going to come from our third and fourth year players (Rainsey, Hartigan etc).  If they step up, we’ll improve as a side MT reckons.

Possibles – they were outclassed all day – no linking down the field, so they just chipped around a lot.

Royal said if anyone went out of the game plan they’d be dragged.  Krak got dragged lol.

Just quickly, forgot to tell Moi that Paddy Bowden would also be in the best players all day. He has played really well in both intra-club games off half-back and wing pushing forward to kick goals. Hopefully he can keep this up against real competition.

these 3 players will help carry us into september this yr, and i can sense schulz warming to the chb role and improving as he spends more time there

That explains why I didn't know Who  TF all thoses players were.  Jake King is pretty fast - but not fast enough to get away from Tambling - Frig he's fast - That was a great run down tackle in the 2nd.

This is how the Probables lined-up at the start of the game:

B.    Raines       Gaspar        Schulz
HB. Hartigan     J.Bowden   Newman
C.    Tambling   Deledio       Johnson
HF.  Foley          P.Bowden   Pettifer
F.     Rodan       Richo           Simmonds

R.  Pattison,  Tuck,  Krakouer

Int:  Hall, Hyde, Humm, Stafford

Richo kicked 3 goals on Kellaway in the first half, then had Moore in the third before Hughes went onto him in the last.

1st Quarter moves:
Tuck to CHB and Joel into the middle;
Sugar to HBF then off with a corky to the left calf;
Simmo  and Tambo into the centre.

2nd Quarter moves:
Prob Forward line at start: Lids on King, Stafford on McGuane and  Richo against Kellaway.
Tambo forward and Lids into the middle.
Rodan into the middle.

3rd Quarter moves:
Staff and Jacko switched sides at the start.
Razor moved forward and Hughes to CHB.
Moore to FB on Richo.

4th quarter moves:
Hughes to FB on Richo
Rodan and Tambo to the goalsquare and lead out. Probables went small and with speed in the late in the game.

I hope we can settle Hughes and McGuane somewhere in the line-up by r22.

re: kick out from a behind rule...im not a coach but i simply reckon what will happen is that Wallace and co. will try and get there players back to half back where you can win the ball back. 6 defenders and 2 or 3 utilitys (for use of a better word) who are around the midfield should race like greyhounds back to half back and wait.

Chaffey, Browny, Knobel, Cogs, Oakley-Nicholls, Thursfield and Casserly didn't play. Not 100% sure but it looked to us that Tivs  was a runner in the second half.

Newman - Was great today. Another consistent 4 quarter effort with his runs off half-back and through the corridor. Had plenty of the ball and seemed to always choose the right option.

Gas - Limbach had the better of him in the first quarter but got on top as the game went along. Hard to judge Gas today as the ball spent most of the time heading towards the other end of the ground. Towards the end Gas was running Limbach up the length of the ground and back again.

Lids - Very good game and more influential this week. Showed his class and spent the time in the middle and up forward.

Raines - Wallace gave him praise yesterday and he showed why today. Like Newman he was prominent with his rebounding and runs through the midfield. Biggest improver today.

Simmo - Hard to judge as he had little competition but was good in what he did and roved around the ground well in linking up with the play. He's clearly much more mobile than last year.

Staff - Played for each team and kicked a goal for each. Pretty standard Staff game.

Joel - Typical Joel game. Reliable as usual.

Richo - Was on fire in the first quarter running all over the forward 50. Left off from where the Learmonth game ended except he didn't have his radar on and kicked 2.3. Ended up with 4 goals which is a pretty good return. Ran down into defence late in the game which got a big cheer from the crowd lol.

Pettifer - Excellent today with the only negative being he kicked 2 points. Was really involved in the match with his hard running up and down the ground to offer himself as a option in space especially across half-forward. Hopefully a good sign his fitness has improved yet again.

Paddy Bowden - Excellent again today and like last week got better as the game went along. If he can do this in a real game his ability to be a goalkicking rebounder/link player will be a much welcomed addition.

Sugar - Was his usual consistent self until going off with a corky.

Rodan - Very good today in both the midfield and up forward. Heavily involved in the intra-club game yet again. Once he went into a old habit of holding onto the ball for too long but generally coose the right option.

Razor - Fairly quiet today although he did play down back for the Probables so not surprising.

Tuck - Solid although not as influential today.

Jackson - Switched sides at half-time to join the Probables. Fairly quiet.

Schulz - Played in the last line of defence that only conceded 6 goals and was solid.  I bet he was glad he was playing for the Probables this week lol.

Patto - Handy in the ruck but fairly quiet.

Krakouer - Nice game from Krak. Seemed to play mostly in the midfield and got plenty of it. Kicked a ripper of a banana goal in the last from b/w the goal and point posts. Today's return in terms of form and influence is what he needs to be striving for the in real stuff.

Tambo - the most disappointing of the Probables. Just didn't get into the game in the first three quarters and was reasonable in the last where he kicked a goal from the free.

Hyde - Another top effort from Hydey especially after quarter time. Got plenty of it and along with Newman, Hartigan, Paddy, Krak and Rodan swept the ball forward through the corridor with his hard running.

Hartigan - Superb game today. A toss up b/w him and Newman for B.O.G. Basically kicked butt breaking through the lines with his runs and his disposal was good. Similar effort today to that quarter and a bit he had against the doggies early last year.

Foley - Didn't notice him much today although he delivered a top pass to Rodan on the lead.

Humm - Given he comes to Richmond with little expectations from us he did well again today in another solid useful game.

For the Possibles it was hard to judge them properly as the team support was simply not there especially after half-time. 16.7 to 1.4 says it all.

Roach - Seems low on confidence and was quiet.

Polo - Reasonably solid for a guy in a smashed team. Still needs to watch his disposal.

Limbach - Probably the one highlight from the Possibles although he drifted out of the game in the second half. He kicked 2 first quarter goals but was more pleasing was his workrate and willingness through chasing and tackling to keep the ball in the forward line.

Meyer - Didn't do much especially after half-time but what he did do was classy. Drew with Krakouer in the Goal of Day stakes in the second quarter with a tight snap on his right with pressure from behind.

Tivs - Tried hard but a typical Tivs game.

Hughes - Was much better last week as he didn't have any influence today. Spent the last half in defence where he was solid. I guess keeping Richo goalless is a tick.

White - Did so nice things and tried to get the ball moving quickly forward for the Possibles. Got nailed in a top tackle from Razor which knocked the stuffing out of him for a few seconds.

McGuane - Not as involved in attacking moves this week understandably but played in a under seige defence and was solid.

Kellaway - Got cut up by Richo in the first quarter but was reasonable in defence after being moved.

Moore - Only noticed him when he was at FB on Richo in the third. Like Hughes, Richo didn't get away from him and only had one goal kicked on him after conceding a free.

Howat - Excellent first quarter with his runs out of the midfield and along with Limbach was a major contributor in keeping the Possibles reasonably close but he drifted out the game as it went along.

Graham - Pretty forgettable game. Made a couple of mistakes early and was quiet.

Overall:For a one-sided game, the standard of our skills was reasonable IMHO. A mixture of the very good with some sloppiness thrown in although the Probables were much cleaner with their skills after half-time. As for following the run and carry gameplan the Probables were very good in supporting the ball carrier and breaking the lines. Perhaps occasionally they were a touch too unselfish. Obviously the Possibles were simply outclassed by a far stronger side.

Goalkicking in the first half left a lot to be desired from the Probables and this alone kept the Possibles in the game at least on the scoreboard. At one stage it was something like 11 scoring shots to 1 but they were only 4 goals up and the Possibles kicked the next two goals. You can't do that against real opposition as they will make you pay.
