Good win.

It was an Andy. A Simon even.
A Good-win.
We played a great brand of footy when it rained.
Loved Vlas, is a back flanker every day of the week.
Dusty, Cotch and Rance back to grade A efforts.
After a poor first qtr, we showed great poise and intensity to roar back into the contest in the 2nd q.
Wouldn't expect to hear from chicken littles tonight, and they'll rest up p for our next insipid loss which will somehow be linked to homosexuality  ;D

What did we think of c Ellis and broad ? Both looked okay to me. Would give them
Another game.
Only 9 possies all up but Corey did a couple of classy things in the last at crucial times.

Great win by the boys!!!

Looked like we just didn't turn up in the first but amazingly turned things around. Their desire cannot be questioned.

Even though we started slowly you could feel that we weren't going to roll over today. The umps killed us in the first quarter too. I reckon GWS just didn't adjust to the wet and still tried to play Rolls Royce footy. I reckon our intensity showed them up too. Great win, Tigers.

Top-four Tigers spread the load

Richmond has been looking for tall support for Jack Riewoldt all season with Ben Griffiths sidelined and the search will continue after Griffiths suffered a shoulder injury in the VFL on Sunday. The solution so far has been a small forward line and another 40-goal plus season so far from Riewoldt. But with their spearhead beaten by Phil Davis on Sunday and restricted to two goals, a spread of goalkickers was needed. It was a sign of the Tigers' growing depth and blue-collar characteristics that they were able to manufacture goals when needed against the Giants. They had eight goalkickers, with the rain appearing to suit the hard-working team. As a serious top-four contender, those workmanlike characteristics will be needed even more going into the finals without a quality sidekick for Riewoldt. Whether it is enough to be competitive in September is yet to be seen, but Sunday's performance showed it can be done.

---------------

After a strong start, the visitors were beaten in inside 50s 61-51, with Richmond playing smarter and more committed football. Of course, the Tigers' win was not all down to system, with flashes of talent critical from midfielders Dustin Martin and Trent Cotchin, who combined for 22 possessions in the second quarter turnaround.

Hey I am showing a friend around town and didn't have a chance to go to the game. Can some of the esteemed members of this board tell me who starred and who plodded and also how Corey Ellis and Broad went? Also do people thing Miles would have allowed us to dominate more?

Thanks in advance

I was at the game so haven't seen stats or replay, this is based purely on how I saw it firsthand.

Broad was solid defensively BUT turned it over by foot 3 or 4 times early in dangerous positions. I think he'll make way for Bachar next week. I like Broad and like the flexibility he offers, need to get more games into him to see if we persevere.

Ellis didn't get a lot of it, think he had 1 touch halfway through the second qtr. I'm not a fan but he did show a couple of classy flashes, however I'd drop him next week.

Soldo competes well in the ruck but is a potato around the ground, absolutely nowhere near ready yet.

First qtr giants structure was much better than ours, they played 2 spare me behind the ball and spread harder so seemed to be outnumbering us everywhere, I actually counted all their players bc i was sure they had more than 18 men.. Once we switched to man on man in the second qtr, the game changed. We looked quicker, harder and hungrier.

Best players for us were:
Martin
Rance
Cotch
Floss(especially early, was one of our few winners in the first qtr)
Astbury
Grimes
