But I will not be happy with the AFL and the 'compensation' we receive.
And not because I think it is inadequate. I just don't get why you have free agency, then offer compensation under that model.
If the AFL really feel there needs to be compensation, then.....
For a restricted free agent, the club signing him should pay the compensation. But not directly to the other club. I am more in favour of them paying a penalty that means everyone else benefits, for example, losing draft picks.
For an unrestricted free agent, no compensation or anything else. Straight forward deal.
