Take the win in round 1 but lots to fix up.

Giving up a 5 goal start means we weren't switched on.

69 - 46 in inside 50s and 36 scoring shots to 20 should result in a flogging on the scoreboard. Shanked so many kicks and while we were missing our shots the Blues were scoring goals at 75%.

Ended up catching up in clearances and contested possies but that was due to the last qtr. First 3 qtrs and especially early on we were well beaten. Cripps was immense for them. Eventually as we do we wore them down with our numbers and pressure and ran over the top of them.

Curnow and Wright both kicked 5. A long time since we allowed an opposition forward kick a bag, let alone two of them.

Positive is we won which is all that matters at this time of the year. Take the first 5 goals off and it ends up nearly a 10 goal gap.

Nice little wake-up call.

A lot to improve on, but plenty to work with.

We were a tad lucky Kruezer got injured.

I felt the umpiring was weird. They sweated on players running too close to the mark, but didn't seem to see anything when guys like Bolton got mugged time and time again in the forward 50. Good learning experience for him.

17.19 and the stupid 50s. Should have smashed them despite an average showing.

Game we needed for me JLT series was walk in the park.Game like this gives coaches and players a real insight that just rocking up and not playing our best footy will loose games and 22 contributions needed.

Conca, Macintosh and B.Ellis butchered the footy. Vlaustin was poor.

If the umpires are hot on encroachment inside the protected area then you don’t keep doing it  :banghead

Very rusty. Good wake up call. Carlton seemed to always get first use of the ball at contests. Butchered disposal in particular Conca but not the only one. Rance, Astbury and Grimes good in defence. Martin showed his brilliance when it countered and I thought the goals from Butler were important. Can't afford to miss to so many shots at goal and give away so many silly 50s. Thought alot of players were down. Had quality players missing but still had depth to beat Carlton.

Funny game - a loss that would feel like a win for long suffering Carlton fans . They have some emerging young stars and Bolton has them on the right track .

Despite this , when you take into account the differential between the scoring shots and the innocuous 50 m penalties which gift wrapped 4 goals to Carlton-  this could of been a massive win for the tigers .

We missed Rioli , Prestia and Houli .

Jacob Townsend has become an absolute favorite of mine - what an amazing story ..

Anyone see Townsend's don't argue in the last?  :shh

Just watching the first quarter again....a couple of absolutely sublime hanbdballs from Castagna playing in the guts leading up to our first two goals.....eat your heart out Shank.....  :shh :shh

Havent seen the replay but can anyone explain what that Weitering decision in the 3rd when he was clearly holding the ball and they ended up getting it?

Wow. Was it "technically" there or just a plain horrid decision?

Was that the one where we were awarded the free kick, but then an umpire further away had already given the free to carlton (sorry can't remember who the player was off hand) as it was deemed a dangerous tackle?
The third quarter, the premiership quarter, it's Dusty time. He starts to shine and then delivers in the most AWESOME fashion.

Yeah, who does he think he is, Dusty?

Just waiting for the AFL to ban the move now.

Exactly the one. Did it end up as a 50 as well? Im.sure they goaled from it when we looked like we might.
