We weren't interested in kicking 9-pointers
« on: February 25, 2006, 08:52:29 PM »
Apart from Tuck in the last trying to get around a Hawk none of our boys tried to kick one.

I mentiond in the other thread Joel passing to Richo in a pocket when he was free to slam home a 9-pointer when scores were level that would have won us gthe match. You're a leader Joel - take on the responsiblilty.

Bowden was shot to pieces in terms of confidence from about the 5th minute of the 2nd quarter. Theres not much more to say except that i cant actually remember anyone undertaking a set piece for a 9 pointer. No attempts at all from memory. Shows a total lack of understanding about how to win games.

If Joel had gone for the option of a player closer to goal within the "V" or running to about 40 out and shooting himself then I wouldn't care as that's what you would want in the real stuff. But his kick went further to Richo than had he taken the shot himself and Richo was on an acute angle. Agree RT, it's just not playing the percentages to win games.
