Reasons?

He's still only 19 going on 20, in his second year with just 2 senior games + a preseason game under his belt. Talls typically take longer to develop.

Reasons?

 - Lacks natural footbal talent. Was drafted more on determination.
 - Turning circle of a tanker. Not mobile enough to play CHF[/li]

IMV far to early to say but I think like HarryB said he should be thrown in the ruck to get him into the game. He seemed a bit lost at CHF yesterday, although it didn't help that he got ignored so much by the blokes up the field.

And can anyone explain to me why on couple of occassions in the second he had to play crumber when the ball hit the ground? Where were the little fellas

im worried about patto, but will be patient.
he seems to have the goods, when he gets the ball, its just he seems lost out there. maybe its not his fault, he was ignored many times yesterday when on the lead, he looked good below his knees. i just think he needs just 1 game for things to go right 4 him and he will be on the way

until that happens i will be worried.

i have more faith in him than meyer cos at least patto has the right attitude and work ethic.

o'connor told me yesterday patto is ready and will be gr8, as will jay!

Meyer is probably peeed off coz he knows hes better than about 7 other blokes in the side who get regular games. I also prefer Hughes to Pattison...and thats from seeing Hughes in CB Cup last year. Way more mobile, better kick. We have Simmonds, Stafford for Ruck duties and Id almost put young Angus infront of him as well. Young Patto needs to be more mobile, more pro active, he needs to smash afew packs. Show us he wants a place in footy. Show us he belongs!

No offence, but I tihnk you have very little idea.

Graham both the skinniest and worst kick I have ever seen.

So what... i see pattison running around looking as though he cant get the pill. lets try what we got, if graham is no good either then he wont make it either. the only thing that i know at this stage is that the percentages of Pattison making it to a good level is pretty low after what ive seen. Still, if your happy watching blokes go out onto the field and who dont look like it all...then what can i say. everyone has a view..i have mine as you  have yours...mine simply is about RFC putting blokes onto the field who look capable. Do you really think Pattison looks capable at this point in time?

Pattison was very intersted - again, not sure what game you watched. He presented very well, lots of leads, shouted his lungs out and keep working all day.  He has got no respect from the boys, never gets passed to. Similar to the Inter Club match. If they actully try passing to Pato he might be a show.

Maybe I was too harsh on Patto. He is a big lump of a lad.

 - Winner of TAC Cup Coaches Award 2004
 - Centre Half Forward in TAC Cup Team of the Year 2004
 - Northern Best and Fairest 2004

I beleive he also won the Coburg MVP for Richmond listed players last season.

It's not so much he isn't going to make it but more the fact if he does I don't see it being untill he wil 21/22 rather than a Roughead would have play AFL from the get go.

Graham has JON like arms and legs. He is a terrbile kick of the footy. I you reckon Pattison isn't up for it at this stage your going to be in for a shock if you watch Graham. 4/5/6 years ruck prosect at best. 'Very raw' is an understatment.

The problem with Patto is he doesn't appear to be either a bona fide ruckman or CHF

I know it's early days but I really can't see much to get excited about young Patto.  I know the standard lines - "he's young, needs time, talls take longer etc" but you can tell by watching players whether they have something or not.

I've seen him a few times at Coburg and yes he's done well.  He has courage and backs into alot of packs.  However, I don't hang my hat on courage alone, heck we've had some courageous players in the past, but very limited in other areas.  A tall needs to be able to read the play and most importantly be able to read the flight of the ball.  IMO Patto hasn't shown much in this area.  I will excuse a tall for not having very good skills but without the ability to read the play and ball, and be able to position himself well, i really don't hold much hope.
Does anyone have half an idea on anything?

I'm sounding like a broken record comparing Patto to Brendon Lade but Lade is no true CHF but the second ruckman/third forward who stretches backlines with his bulk, height and strong marking. In an ideal world we'll have mobile talls in Limbach and Hughes at FF and CHF respectively with Patto rotated b/w ruck and close to goal in tandem with Simmo (or Graham if he makes it).
