Thoughts on Hardwick now ??
« on: October 03, 2017, 04:22:34 PM »
Fire away . Has a nice wife apparently.

Personally I'm really happy for him . Had to do it the hard way with all the compromised drafts.

Last year was really disappointing - but its been a pretty decent ride since 2012 .

If you heard the players talk about their love for Hardwick last night, you'd have to say Caracella.

Caracella is the perfect assistant. Astute with his football knowledge. Hardwick though is the ultimate man manager.  He is the glue that holds this team together.

Hardwick opens his home to young indigenous boy .

Same boy kicks 4 goals in preliminary final.

Wonder how many boarders Ross Lyon has had ??

Certainly was alot of love in that room last night for Hardwick

I knew the players loved him but I didn't realise how deep the bond was

He clearly has taken on a Paternal role and that's important in the development of young men.

As a tactician and understanding what was needed......No good.

I think coaching will never be a 1 man job again. The appointments and the calibre of assistant coaches and the ability to compliment the skills of Hardwick was as good a catalyst as any why we won a premiership.

If you look at EPL managers they come with their own staff. I can see AFL going in similar direction where a coaching team is appointed as opposed to a single senior coach who then either inherits assistants or has to find best available.

Super stoked for Dimma, I wasn't really sold on him for a long time, questionable selections and lack of flexibility had my doubts but by all reports this year he deserves everything that comes his way. Not only proved many wrong but was good enough to fix most of the things that was holding him back to become a premiership coach.
Go Tigers!

How stuffing good?
Nothing else matters.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Lets start with we have a flag the players love him I now love him also. We play hard entertaining football which breaks teams stuffing love it!
But stuffing seriously all these freakin Einstein's that bring up last year, stuffing hell we were poohouse, like real poohouse Ive been going to nigh on every game for 37 years and last year was up there with the best in terms of disheartening rubbish, it was real hard to go and watch some weeks and got to the stage I couldn't see was going to happen this this year in a fit.
I had kinda faith that we had a nucleus of good enough players, but they either were dumb as dogshit and not listening or Dimma was being stubborn in his game plan(I went with the 2nd option).
I was screaming last year for him to just let them play.
Anyway whatever happened he needed to go 360 and however that happened it happened and oh my god I'm in heaven.
All is forgiven and he is now the messiah.

The players love the bloke and they play for him.

The introspection, new assistants, intangibles (I've spoken of previously), support, cohesion and connection that all led to the club being 100% correct in their support of Damien and the fanatical adherence to stability.

I couldn't see it.

The club hoped and held firm the course........it worked!

I now trust the club and the coach I had lost trust in.
