2020 will forever be tainted.
Half the competition couldn't give a sh*t just like most other sporting codes around the world. And I'd say the same thing if Geelong pinched that flag.
17 week season, 16 minute quarters lol, no wonder it'll be the last time in decades your mob win anything.
Quote from: catscollector
Your last flag was won in a bubble. A time when the world couldn't really give a toss about sport. Most teams weren't trying. Games were delayed, shortened, and the finals began in round 19!
lol, that is right around the time when potential finalists are settling their best 22 for the month leading into finals.
2020*

IIRC, the mafia/media was saying at the time something along the lines..

“Whichever team wins the flag this year(2020) in such disruptive conditions it will be the greatest win since the competition started”

I may be wrong but is should have added. “…except Richmond”

One of the worst, cowardly, snipers, we’ve seen in footy. Cheap shots, dog acts, and intent to hurt players in vulnerable situations.
Can play footy, no doubt. But Lynch is cowardly sniper of the worst kind.

Of course he’s free to play l said he’s a Richmond player and a Victorian one of the protected. a player from any interstate team would have been rubbed out. Who cares if Alex got knocked out we are supposed to be protecting the players. I am so over the MRO, mob of crooks.

That’s it! I’m officially unfollowing the AFL now! This is beyond a farce. This thug should have been banished for 4+ weeks!! And he’s just gotten 0! The AFL need to have a hard long look at themselves and how they operate because they are losing loyal fans. Goodbye, AFL!

Better headline.

How about some other teams manage their lists better instead of offering stupid money on back-ended deals that are guaranteed to cause cap pressure and result in a fire sale?

Looking at you GWS, Pies etc

this stat is only true because the hawks and tigers were able to stockpile 6 flags due to fixturing/GF location advantages

Richmond are an average side. Auskick footy.

Full side we win by a lot.
Quote from: Finknottle
True, Richmond rely on snaps at goal, scrubbing the ball along the ground and punching it forward. It worked against us because our team balance was shot. Parfitt and Bews were terrible, but there were several not much better. The extra handball to a player under the pump happened with regularity. Sometimes it's better to just kick the ball forward. Two Geelong players competing against each other while one Richmond player waits for the ball to be fumbled out. 3 Geelong backs going for the mark against 1 Richmond forward. 5 Geelong players swarming in the honeypot while 3 Richmond players wait for it to be squeezed out. The video will make for interesting viewing during the week.
Quote from: caitsith01
I'm sick of getting outcoached by that idiot Hardwick. When every long kick goes to an unmarked Tiger then something is way, way off.

That reminded me of the 2020 GF and was most unpleasant.
Quote from: UnitedWarrior93
We won pretty much all the stats, despite playing poorly and kicking for goal poorly. 8 premiership players out, while Richmond played their best game of the year and kicking out of their ass at goal.

Let the media run win the tigers are back lol.
Quote from: cats_09
Being at the game it seemed that majority of the Richmond crowd must have come in after they opened the gates at 3/4 time

The crowd was silent when Richmond ran out at the start of the match, and even during the first half they made noise but nothing crazy

According the board, the attendance was a tad over 58k, and they seemed to finally find their voice in the last - but damn that's got to be disappointing for Richmond with that turnout

They want these Friday night matches and to be taken seriously as a "Big Club", but when you factor in the Geelong crew that would have turned up, less than half of Richmond's reported 100k+ members turned up for a home match at their home ground

One reason I love Geelong & our home games - our fans turn out to support our club, and there's barely a seat to be found regardless of our opponent & when where playing down at KP
Quote from: Jemaine
The crowd of 58k tonight was pathetic, there is no amount of tiger fan crying that should be able to stop them playing at KP next year.

When they do have a whinge, point to this game and ask where the other 50k members were.
Quote from: fpm84
It is an indictment on Richmond that we were alive so late and that their million dollar midfield got thumped in clearances by a VFL side. The Taranto and Hopper deals will haunt them for a long time.
Quote from: kickazz
Geez Richmond's game style means they give away more frees than they get, regularly.

Tonight it was 2:1 in their favour. Every dodgy one seemed to go their way apart from Jezza's dropped mark.

Think we were a bit unlucky there. Umps rarely matter as much as people think. I recon you get one game a year where you can feel a bit aggrieved, hopefully this was it.
Quote from: SleazySimon
Not allowed to touch dusty but hes allowed to push, got it
Quote from: Schmegg
Giving Richmond fans a bone in a year they won’t amount to much will ensure they will be posting rubbish at the pointy end about how they “beat Geelong at their best”.

Wooden spoon: Richmond

Everyone at SEN tipped the Weagles for the spoon except Goosage.
