Q: What did you make of Lynch's comeback game? Pretty important especially that first half.

Dimma:
"Yeah, he was. You know he is important to the way we play and he was battling two most of the night. But he managed to get the ball to the ground and was rarely outmarked and he kicked some really important goals as well. He's so important to the way we play and you can see the importance he had by the players around him growing in stature as well. He had a good game. Tough night for forwards as we spoke about but we're pleased with how he went.

Source: Hardwick's post-match pressure.

Stats:

11 disposals (8k, 3h, 5c, 7u, 81.8% eff.)
4 marks (2 contested marks)
3 tackles (2 in50 tackles)
3 inside 50s
1 intercept
282 metres gained
8 score involvements
3 goals
86% time on ground

Not the best conditions for a big man, thought he did fairly well

Thought he was very good. Brought the ball to ground when outnumbered 3-1 and chased and tackled well too.

Excellent pressure applied for a key forward with 17 pressure acts.  :clapping

Only Clarke had more (22) than him out of all forwards.
The club that keeps giving.

A melee of 20 or so players started by Cripps and the AFL pulls out just two fines one to Lynch :huh3.

Charges laid:

Tom Lynch, Richmond, has been charged with Wrestling Lachie Plowman, Carlton, during the third quarter of the Round 14 match between Richmond and Carlton played at the MCG on Thursday, June 16 2022.

In summary, the player can accept a $1000 sanction with an early plea.

A first offence for Wrestling is a $1500 sanction. An early plea enables the player to accept a $1000 sanction.

Interesting  how biased the cronies in the AFL are. The weak  Media don’t challenge the bias with the perpetrators and due to the dictatorship the rules have been written so to raise critics either privately or publicly rewards the club with greater bias and financial penalties.
It no coincidence that we get poo fixture times, free counts and bias at the tribunal.
The bias / pedjudices should be challenged / called out if they continue

Lynch interviewed at half-time said it's a minor hammy. It's the other leg so it's a new hammy. He's never done one on that leg.

Tom said he felt it on the lead when he took the mark. Had his set shot and then went off. He actually wanted to go back on but the doc said nup.

If this game and past month has taught me anything it’s that Lynch is our most important player by some margin.

Even when he’s having an avg game he’s still taking away the opposition teams best defender and often drawing multiple defenders away for our other fwds to benefit.
