Yup he said gws were planning to be winning flags by 2016-2018 which is why they stacked their TPP. Plan was to offload a couple of the longer term higher end deals for multiple first round draft picks after winning a flag so that they could relieve their cap pressure while still staying ahead of the rest of the comp in terms of talent.

He said Shiel and Scully are the two who could potentially be moved back to Victoria.

Would be great but think we’ve both agreed an inside mid is of greater need than an outside runner.

Hmmm....don't rate this bloke but have heard the same re: Cerra & Hopper/Setterfield. The stuff about Lobb & St.Kilda stuff is news to me though:

I thought I heard Setterfield to Carlton was as good as done.

Probably why we're also into Hopper as a contigency. Heard nothing regrading Wallis either and sincerely hope it's crap. Might as well stick with Plonka.

If we're after Lobb -which I highly doubt at this stage- then surely we'd have to be planning to go with a two ruck set up next year as I can't see him coming down to play VFL or fight it out with Nankervis for the senior spot. Reckon he's a bit soft to carry the ruck by himself anyway. :shh

Also dunno who the stuff we'd want from St. Kilda that'd be available. Doubt they'd trading Steven or Steele. Maybe Acres or Billings? Was a big fan of the former in his draft year but he's done stuff all since while the latter's had a woeful year but can definitely play.  :shh :shh

We don’t need any of those players.
Get Lynch, trade out Bellis, Conca, Moore and Bolton and draft some kids and we have done well.
Set ourselves up for another 3 years.

We need at least one ready to go quality inside mid. If we're smart we could stay in the draft & get Cerra plus Hopper or Setterfield. Cerra wants to come home, Bolton wants to go home. WA boys Conca, Broad(edit:who I'm hearing is more than open to the idea  :shh) & McIntosh are all expendable IMO and the latter two at least would have currency. GWS are desperate to offload players to stay under the cap. We have currency & can trade next year's picks as well and we'll drafting the best kid in the country the year after that anyway regardless of where we finish. #inbalmewetrust :shh

Now hearing we're into Hopper.....which wouldn't be the first time..... :shh
BF or different source?

If GWS have half the issues of salary cap that were reported, he might be very gettable
Our mate t71 on BF has been dangling a carrot on BF about a "big bodied mid" from another club for about a month now.

Also, one of our "young mids" who is contracted wants out is another one.

"Contracted young mid" literally could only be one of graham, naish, higgins.

In any of the 3 cases, i highly doubt it.

C Ellis???

B Ellis :shh

Except it's not lol. MIDFIELDER, peasants  :shh

Why is an inside mid so important when we have Prestia, Graham and Cotch who play that roll?
In fact most of our mids are a good spread of inside and out- Dusty, Lambert, Caddy, hell even Conca
How many more can you play in the one side?

We have won 18 games with this side, I would hate for the club to try and get too cute and change things too much. And we have decent depth players that cannot even get a look in.

Get Lynch and draft some quality kids that you won’t have to pay 💰 much for until some of our older guys are near their end.

Trading out guys like Bolton, Conca and Bellis would be the smartest thing this club could do this trade period imo. They have trade value and all replaceable with guys we already have on our list and with bigger upside.

In any case, our list is in great shape.

Agree with you on our inside midfielders, but I cannot understand why we loose the clearances always with the quality there.

Our midfield depth is poor....those blokes get injured then it's basically just Conca, Lloyd, CEllis & Miles and Miles won't even be here next year, I'd be very surprised if CEllis was either at least with Lloyd also likely to seek a trade and a bunch of first year kids aren't likely to address the issue right away...should always be looking to improve the list and it's depth regardless of where you finish....:shh

Ok unlike that other flog, this bloke is usually on the money.....

...intersting that he hasn't heard about Hopper & Setterfield though as it's been doing the rounds for the past few weeks... :shh

I find the belief that Cerra might come to us bordering on fantasy.

Of course, I am not certain that it will not happen, I just do not see how it can get done.

Cerra is pie in the sky sort of stuff IMHO.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.
