Dom Tyson has joined North Melbourne from Melbourne in exchange for Braydon Preuss and Pick 62.

St Kilda has completed a deal for Dean Kent from Melbourne in exchange for Pick 65.

Dan Hannebery has joined St Kilda from Sydney. The Swans receive pick 39 and a 2019 second-round pick, while the Saints get Hannebery and pick 28.

Isn't there some rule about the AFL requiring a club to use their first round draft pick at least once in three years. Thought Geelong were caught in this a couple of years back.

I think the AFL has to tick off on it. More of a protection protocol for the shyte clubs, I think....

Our mate on BF suggesting that the Dawks have offered more coin. We can't compete.

Positives could be that with them focused on Scully and Wingard, it might leave the door open for Scrimshaw. Oh, that would be sweet  :rollin

Why Scully wants out of Giants

JON RALPH
Herald-Sun
12 Oct 2018  12:30pm

TOM Scully’s determination to move back to Melbourne is based on family circumstances rather than the GWS salary cap position.

As revealed by the Herald Sun today, Scully met with Hawthorn this week despite his management’s persistent denials over past weeks about a potential move.

The Giants have cleared as much as $2 million of cap space with trades that will go through for Dylan Shiel, Rory Lobb and Will Setterfield.

Scully is on around half of the $1 million pay cheque per season that he received when he arrived at the Giants as a marquee signing.

But Scully’s likely move is a huge setback for coach Leon Cameron, who rates him the hardest-running player he has seen in football.

It is understood he has circumstances regarding his family in Melbourne that mean he believes it is a priority for him to return after seven years at the Giants.

He is yet to officially declare he will leave or pick a club or choice but he has made it clear he is considering whether to leave.

Scully left seven years ago in a hail of controversy, with Melbourne fans furious that he left after being the No.1 overall selection in the draft two years before.

Hawthorn is not the only Melbourne-based club chasing his services, but a link to Richmond has been ruled out despite speculation.

Ironically, he would be a perfect fit at Melbourne given their need for outside run and players who can run deep into defence, but they are seen to have other priorities.

Despite a season-ending syndesmosis injury this year he had played every game in the previous two years, kicking 23 and 15 goals and averaging 570 disposals.

Did the Blues get a bargain with the Setterfield trade?

Seems like a pretty cheap price for a promising, albeit oft injured, young midfielder.
