15: Gold Coast - Pass
16: Sydney - Cody Hirst (Eastern Ranges)
17: Western Bulldogs - Pass
18: Essendon - Pass

And that concludes the first ever NAB AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft.

The big surprise stemming from tonight's draft is that Coburg duo Sam Lowson and Lochie Dickson both didn't find an AFL home.

Two clubs passing out of 14 in the first round is hardly "a lot" - second round was always going to be a non-event, don't think the idea was ever for clubs  to use the draft to take multiple players.... :shh

14 club's

5 passes

More than 35%

So IMHO it was non event

It could be also that clubs had earmarked a certain player and if he was gone by their pick they chose to pass....

Wasn’t built up to be an event?

Clubs wanted the option. Most took it. Says a lot to me that we used our pick on a future prospect, considering our current stifling injury situation.

12 out of 14 clubs took at least one player. so what if 4 out of 5 didn't take a second player- not sure what kind of extravaganza you were expecting it to be.....:shh
