It must have been a close call between RCD and Ely Smith?

No. Ely was considered as a 30-50 ranked player because of some deficiencies in his game.

Like sooking if he was drafted interstate
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Tigers' top draft pick an instant hit on Gold Coast

Michael Whiting
AFL Media
Jan 24, 2019

It hasn't taken long for Riley Collier-Dawkins to impress his Richmond teammates, with defender Nick Vlastuin heaping praise on the teenage draftee.

As the Tigers near the end of their five-day training camp on the Gold Coast, Vlastuin said the No.20 pick from last year's NAB AFL Draft had turned heads with his training form.

When asked who he expected to make an impact following the departure of Reece Conca and depth players such as Anthony Miles and Corey Ellis, Vlastuin was definitive.

"I've been impressed with Riley Collier-Dawkins and 'Rossy' (No.42 draft pick Jack Ross)," he said.

"We had a little match-sim on Monday and Collier-Dawkins was probably best-on."

Is 193cm and still growing. Looking like he might be a special player in  couple of years with the injury Gods being kind to him.  :pray

RCD seems to be receiving universal praise from fans and the media alike after today's intra-club and considered a possible round 1 debutant.

Would be fantastic if RC-D, Ross and Balta all made their debuts rnd 1.

Way it would go
Ross for Conca
RC-D FOR Grigg
Balta for Lynch
and if Caddy misses  Moore for Caddy.

Thats just too much to hope for praying at least one of them gets a gig.

RCD on his first hitout:

“It was pretty quick, and very heavily contested but it was a great hit-out,” he said.

“Surprisingly enough, I didn’t have many nerves, I was just really excited to get out there, and just a great experience and I’m very glad I did it.

“(My focus was) just to play my role, making sure I work offensively just as hard as I work defensively, and that was something I put a lot of emphasis on out there.”

“(The biggest challenge was) not being the biggest out there,” he said.

“There’s some pretty big bodies out there and they’re smashing and crashing in the pack, so that was pretty challenging and something I had to adapt to pretty quick.”

“I’ve certainly got a lot fitter and a lot bigger over my time at the Tigers, it’s been a really good pre-season, hopefully I can carry some of that form into the main season,” he said.

“Everyone aspires to play (senior football), but if I can ply my craft through the VFL that’s something I’ll do, just making sure I get better each time,” he said.

KID ONLY HAD 40% GAME TIME AND SHOWED PLENTY WHEN ON THE GROUND.
They probably won't play him rnd 1 but i would. He Ross and Balta all did more than enough to be considered for rnd 1.

Hope they have a good look at Stack in jlt2.
