Hmm on the game most gutted ive been in years. On Ross im with WP he needs to make that the norm did enough to keep his spot lets see if he can string two together.

Ross’ work ethic across the four quarters was excellent and he used the ball effectively, creating opportunities for teammates.

The 21-year-old, playing his 39th game of AFL football, was one of the Tigers’ best in their three-point loss.

He finished the match with 25 disposals, nine contested possessions, five marks, three inside-50s, six clearances, two centre clearances, three intercepts, four score involvements and 257 metres gained.

His performance through Richmond’s midfield was all the more meritorious considering the absence for the big clash of veteran Tiger stars Trent Cotchin and Kane Lambert, plus the concussion suffered by gun on-baller Dion Prestia early in the contest.

Without that talented trio, the Tigers needed Ross to help fill the midfield void.

The fact he was able to have an important impact in the Richmond engine-room, against a team of Geelong’s quality, should provide him with plenty of confidence for his future at the game’s highest level.

The 21-year-old seems to be used largely as a replacement for any injured Richmond midfielders.

He has been in and out of the team in 2022, but took his chance in Saturday’s narrow loss to Geelong.

He played the first three games of the season, was an unused medi-sub in Round 4, and added a further three games before he was dropped prior to Round 8.

Ross was granted a reprieve in Round 10 before again making way prior to Round 12, but was called up for the Cats clash after some sparkling VFL form and to replace the injured Trent Cotchin.

The former second-round pick had arguably his most accomplished game as a senior Tiger, collecting a season-high 25 disposals, an equal career-high six clearances (two out of the centre), and made good choices by both hand and foot evidenced by his 84% disposal efficiency.

He did, however, fail to lay a tackle which will no doubt be a focus on the track this week.

With Cotchin still sidelined with a cracked collarbone, Ross is a certainty to retain his spot in Damien Hardwick’s 22 for this weekend’s meeting with West Coast.

Thought he was solid. Not as good as last week but still much better playing on the inside than out on the wing. Also his kicking has been very good these last couple of weeks, maybe he’s a better kick than all of us thought he was.

Not up to standard and in a way a trend has a good one and then very little or just enough to escape criticism.

LOL the  disingenious ways tiger supporters find to defend ordinary players and games.

So Lets talk about the ruckmen. Two supposed front line rucks get towelled up by an ancient 30 something year old who has not played for months and has no afl match fitness.

Just like anything else where we havent done too well in games this is overlooked. as well.

Our rucks arent dominant yet we  have done enough to not get belted with all sorts of different midfield combinations in the past.
Ross Graham mate they have been around long enough to know how to play to a losing ruck.We should also have structures in place we play to in these situations yet as soon as we lose a prestia or Cotchin we get beaten up. There can only be two things for this and maybe it is both.

My concern we look a million bucks when its on our terms but sheesh we are not even poor but putrid when its not, and it doesnt take a lot of injuries to hurt.
