Was always going to be a high level of media coverage for this particular game so its not unexpected, sure Jack can handle it, as for the rest of the team, who knows.

Rance on the Footy Show tonight:

* Hard to put the poor start down to one thing. We are still a maturing group. The poor starts have been a trend in recent years and we don't want it to keep happening.

* Pretty happy with the way he himself played and battled against Josh Kennedy. A couple of others played well too against the Eagles.

* He's had a great start to the season and had no issues from the boys nor the leadership group regarding starting preseason training in January. Not sure what Barrett was talking about. Nothing to worry about. The decision was never to play at another club. It was to remain a Tiger or retire. He's in a happy place with the boys this year and enjoying it. Never a question to change clubs.

* The Media rides the Tiges hard when we lose and even when we win. Criticism harsh on Dimma and Cotch. Hard to see Cotch cop the flack that he does. Trent is a quality individual. He's Mr Cool. He lets his footy do the talking and can look after himself.

* Hogan is a fantastic player and took me to the cleaners last year. I don't under-estimate him. Melbourne have a good spine now and hardnuts in the middle.
