Have said many times Jake needs to play to his obvious limitations of which there are many

And to make matters worse they gave him mid field time  :banghead

Only three games away from 50 and really hoping he doesn't get there.... any less than a dozen injuries to our best 22 and this bloke simply shouldn't be anywhere near the senior side.....:thumbsdown

It’s quite amazing that mostly everyone I know don’t think this bloke is AFL standard and that includes most on this forum. He tries but he’s just not up to the level required.

But for some inexplicable reason he just keeps getting selected.  :help

Why?
Jake trained with the midfield group for most of the preseason. So that's why he got midfield time last night.

Having said that it still doesn't make sense to me. So WP, I still ask the same question --- Why?  :-\

His place in the side gives me the same feels as when I used to see matt Thomas in the lineup

I still think Matt Thomas was much maligned.
Iknow he didnt give much when it came spread he was a bit slowand didnt offer a lot offensively.
But by crickey he was very sevicable  on the inside and imo this is just not acknowledged.

he played 15 games for us in 2014 2015 and yeah i know some will say 15 too many but after those 15 games his inside body of work went as the following remember also he only had the 15 games and three were less than half a game.

 305 Disposals at 20.3. 83 Tackles at 5.5. 60 clearances at 4.0

Even stacked up against Thomas our younger mids like Ross and Graham have some way to go to match him on the inside.

I feel bad for ripping on him now. Just saw an article that his knee was cooked! Like it’s still Richmond’s fault for playing him but Thomas still had a dip on one leg. His disposal sends and being part of scoring chains is still nightmare inducing stuff

I actually didn't mind him. Nor Brad Miller. People just have to accept they weren't never meant to be A grade players. Just moneyball role players.

They were both very, very ordinary. Ultimately it didn't hurt us playing them given we ended up winning a stack of premierships, but they were list cloggers of the highest order.
