I hope he comes out today and kills it.

From the tiny bit of I have seen of this kid he just loves the contest and doesn’t seem to get overawed by it all which is extremely rare.

Good luck to him as it sounds like he has earned it.

Last year the WA Under 18s coach was asked which WA player is most likely to get picked in the AFL Draft, and Peter Sumich talked up Perth product, Sydney Stack.

Today, Stack makes his AFL debut for the Richmond Tigers. Brad Hardie and Kim Hagdorn caught up with Sumich on 6PR’s Front and Centre to get an update on the promising WA player.

“You’ll see a player that will be very hard at the contest, he physically loves the tough stuff,” Sumich said about Stack.

“I don’t know if he will play half back or half forward, but I think eventually he’s a midfielder in the making.”

What an indictment it is on some of our established player that a first gamer showed more courage, gave 2nd, 3rd efforts time and time again

Great first game

While the Tigers have slipped to 1-2, Hardwick extracted some positives from Saturday's game.

He feels they've unearthed a legitimate AFL player in Sydney Slack.

The 18-year-old West Australian tallied 17 possessions, eight marks and a booming 50-metre plus set shot goal and put a big hit on lively Giants forward Brent Daniels.

"We probably picked him tonight on a little bit of a speculative vibe, but the reality was he was fantastic," Hardwick said.

"He's very clean with the ball in hand, he makes terrific decisions and he's powerful and strong."
