This time last year we had an unconvincing win over Carlton and then got spanked by Adelaide even worse than last night so I think it’s a touch early to be ripping out the old doom and gloom lines like teams have worked us out, our game plan hasn’t evolved etc.

This time last year we had rance,  jack and teams weren't spreading us out as the last 2 have.

Signs don't look great

Do you remember the Adelaide game? Absolutely belted us.

We also had to come back from coughing up the first 5 goals against Carlton.

We would have lost this game with Rance. Our backline kept us in it.

The new rules are against , they advantage sides who have completely invested in their midfields like Collingwood and Hockings Geelong
Richmond were poor last night and were out coached again
Richmond need to adjust and that’s why they invested heavily in bigger midfield, sadly the afl think they need to be anonther level of government and socially enigineer our  us instead of just administrating the game

25-9  ::)

Hard to tackle when your allowing so many uncontested possessions.

I assume that was collingwood way.
IIRC, pies had most free kicks for last season and we had the most against. It continues, the throw in the goal square end of the 3rd q was a momentum killer

Worst bit about number

Is it was 4 to 3 in our favour at qtr time

So we had 5 more frees in 3 qtrs of footy

That beggars belief

I don't normally get on the blame the umpire treadmill

And they are by no means the reason why we lost but struth they were pathetic last night

If you can hold the ball vs Tigers....you win.
Our entire forward pressure was undone by the Pies holding the ball with short kicks or switching play. Add ruck dominance at the centre clearance and you have an arse pumping on a platter

Absolutely spot on :clapping

Yep, we’ve got to stick our tackles, shades of 2016 about the tackling last night.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Compared to Collingwood Our midfield is quite hopeless and the last two games have proved this.

Martin is not playing at the same standard we have come to expect and struggles hopelessly with the tight tag. Cotchin was MIA and when he did get the footy was pretty much ineffective as the Pies were all over him like flies on poo. Lambert was vfl standard at best and Prestia was taught a footy lesson like most others he was nowhere to be seen in the last quarter. Graham isn’t an effective tagger and doesn’t get the footy enough to be equally an effective midfielder.

Simply our midfield must lift because the way they are performing  at the moment I can’t even see them winning a midfield battle against the bombers.

A lot to do to get that pressure mojo back to the levels we’ve come to expect.
The club that keeps giving.
