Leading the Tigers out will be Jacob Ballard, who will take on the captain duties in Steve Morris’ absence. It will be a familiar role for Ballard, who has skippered the Tigers on three occasions already this year.

The VFLW Tigers will run out onto VU Whitten Oval at 4.00pm to face the Western Bulldogs following the 1.00pm VFL clash.

Tiger fans can follow live updates from Footscray via the Richmond VFL Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Callum Coleman-Jones belies his height and size sell some candy and curls home a goal whilst hemmed in on the boundary line  :gotigers.

The Dogs have since kicked the next two goals.

Jack Higgins draws the too high stuff inside 50 and sl-ots his first major of the day  :gotigers.

Oleg Markov charges out of the goal square and clunks a searing ball from Connor Menadue. And Markov eases through his set-shot for a much needed goal  :gotigers.

Quarter time

Richmond  3.2-20
Footscray   5.0-30

Goals: Coleman-Jones, Higgins, Markov.

QT: @FootscrayVFL made the most of its chances inside 50 and moved the ball with speed and fluency from its back-half. We swung back the ascendancy late in that quarter and we've got plenty of growth left in our game going into Q2.

2nd qtr underway:

Oleg Markov is enjoying his change in role today after plucking another mark on the lead and slotting the set-shot from a tight angle  :gotigers.
