And their year just keeps getting better...can't post the link to the story for some reason suffice to say whether or not the allegations are true personally always thought there was a dodgy vibe about Joffa beyond his feral antics....makes me laugh how he was celebrated by the club & the media (was even featured on Open Mike lmao) when any opposition supporter who sat within 50 metres of him at a Filth game knows what a deranged scumbag he is....:shh

Yeah sounds like he came from the bad side of town and acts like it.

Details surrounding retired Magpie Dayne Beams’ contract settlement remains a mystery, with AFL boss Gillon McLachlan unable to clarify whether it was paid outside the salary cap.

Beams turned heads when he suggested his deal with Collingwood came outside of the club’s salary cap.

Herald Sun journalist Mick Warner was critical of the AFL’s lack of clarity on the topic, saying “we deserve some answers here.”

“They’re (the AFL) just saying they don’t want to talk about it. But I would’ve thought if a player has made the claim that he got paid outside the cap, then I think all of the other clubs and the rest of the football community should be cleared up,” he said on 3AW.

I wonder if Chris Yarrans payout was outside the cap too? Just suggest drugs or mental illness forcing a retirement and voila instant cap space.

The Pies have plummeted. A ‘soul destroying’ $2.3m blow could be their rock bottom

Ben Cotton

Collingwood is this morning licking its wounds after confirmation of the proud club’s lowest ever finish in VFL-AFL history.

A disastrous 2020 trade period due to salary cap pressures set the club on a path to disaster which ultimately cost Nathan Buckley his job.

And there’s not much light at the end of the tunnel, at least in the short term.

There’s uncertainty at the club from the top down, an ugly board stoush threatening to boil over, the future of arguably the club’s greatest player in doubt and a playing list that hardly screams immediate rebound.

Making matters worse, they’ll go into the national draft with limited picks – but are likely to secure potential Pick 1 and father-son prodigy Nick Daicos.

Here foxfooty.com.au breaks down the big issues facing Collingwood and why things are ‘going to get worse before they get better’.

New Collingwood president Jeff Browne has declared he wants a “new Collingwood” to throw their weight around in the manner befitting the biggest club in the AFL.

In an online address to members after formally being voted in as president by the new board on Friday morning, Browne said his first priority was for Collingwood to build their membership to 100,000.

This year they had 85,000.

Top-four Pies: Is Collingwood a premiership contender?

Collingwood will make a “very, very quick rebound” in 2022, former recruiter Matt Rendell believes and he says he would not be surprised if the Pies finished in the top four.

Magpies star banned in illicit drugs bombshell

Collingwood star Jack Ginnivan has been suspended for four matches, admitting to taking illicit drugs.

The goal-kicking young gun, 20, admitted on Saturday that he had taken drugs recently in the Torquay Hotel toilets - on a day off after the club’s pre-season camp on Victoria’s Surf Coast. Ginnivan said “a few drinks and a lack of judgement” had let him down.

Seven News was provided with video of Ginnivan at the hotel, sparking an investigation from the network.

Ginnivan will miss two practice matches, and the opening two rounds of the home-and-away season with games against Geelong and Port Adelaide.

The AFL released a statement on Saturday night, confirming its integrity unit had investigated the incident. Ginnivan has received one strike under the league’s illicit drugs code.

“The AFL confirms Collingwood player Jack Ginnivan has been found guilty of conduct unbecoming and has been suspended for rounds one and two of the 2023 AFL premiership season,” the AFL said.

“The AFL IU was contacted by the Collingwood Football Club on Thursday evening in relation to vision that had emerged of Ginnivan with an illicit substance while in Torquay in January. The IU has interviewed Ginnivan who admitted to the illicit substance use.

“Ginnivan will also not be available to participate in Collingwood’s upcoming match simulation versus Carlton (Friday 24 February) and in the AFL’s official practice round of games (Thursday 2 March vs Hawthorn). He will not be eligible for VFL selection at any time during his suspension.

“A $5000 (suspended) fine has also been applied and his conduct constitutes a notifiable adverse finding under the AFL’s illicit drugs policy. Ginnivan will be required to undertake further education above the current mandated training on illicit substances and its effects.”

Clearly just wanted to again show what a dimwit he is.

Well done Jack
