Pat Cummins has announced Marcus Harris has lost his spot in the Test XI, with Usman Khawaja to open the batting in the fifth Ashes Test.

Travis Head will also return to the side, having missed the fourth Test after being diagnosed with COVID.

Meanwhile, Scott Boland will need to pass a fitness test on Thursday afternoon if he is to play the final match of the series beginning on Friday.

England could make as many as five changes for the final Ashes Test in Hobart.

Jos Buttler has already left the country after suffering an injury in Sydney, while opener Haseem Hameed and spinner Jack Leach will also be axed.

The Cricketer is reporting that James Anderson will also be rested, with Chris Woakes expected to take his spot.

Sam Billings will enter the side to keep wicket, while Rory Burns will receive a lifeline at the top of the order.

Ollie Robinson will return from a minor injury.

Ben Stokes is set to play through the pain of a side strain, though Ollie Pope will be on standby to take his spot if required.
