Inb4 Dimma moves to him to hbf then everyone quickly forgets these early good games in the midfield and calls him a dud......might need Fyfe to fall on his leg first though...but at least he won't be told to slim down... :shh

I guess the only question left is; could he still be a decent inside mid, or is he too mentally destroyed to ever succeed?

I'm think at Richmond at least he's probably shot...if another AFL club sees him as an inside mid and gives him a fair crack at it then maybe he can still turn it around...(put it this way he looked better in his first 5 games then Will Brodie ever did in 5 seasons at at GC) but by then, outside of being able to say "I told you so" to few random anonymous flogs on the internet for a fleeting dopamine rush I won't really care anymore.... :shh

Clubs aren’t always stupid and considering how successful we have been we aren’t as stupid as we used to be. Every man and his dog know we need new midfielders to take the place of the ageing stars and they’ve been giving opportunities to every player they think can win one on one contests.

You don’t think Ross has been tried numerous times during the off-season planning for inside contested work but just doesn’t win any one on one contest against anyone in the team? It is not that hard to believe considering every time he plays seniors he fails time and again to win a one on one contests against most opposition players.  :shh

………but it’s the clubs fault!  :rollin

Dow has certainly beefed up in the upper body going by this pic at the Captain's Run today.

Was one of the reasons we got back into it in the 2nd half. Give him as many minutes as possible.

I don’t think he had a great game today pretty much got his pants pulled down all game bar maybe the third quarter.

hopefully he learns a lot from this.

I thought he was good. Didn't shirk any contests like others

his pressure and contest work is solid but he was soundly beaten today by better midfielders. He lacked any impact in the middle. He’s young so it’s good lessons for him

Yeah he was beaten. But had plenty of mates. I liked what I saw from him even when beaten and not getting plenty of it.

Thomson Dow received a knock in the same area of his quad as he suffered last week, with the midfielder substituted out of the game in the second half and being ruled out of next week.

Came in as a late change for Ross.

So how did we all judge Dow's return to the seniors?

13 disposals (5k, 8h, 8c, 6u, 84.6% eff.)
1 mark
2 tackles
6 clearances
4 inside 50s
2 intercepts
140 metres gained
4 score involvements
74% time on ground

I thought he was very poor

Twice in the last he pulled out of contests (not sure of showed on the TV) when he had to go in to cause a stoppage

Very poor

Looks off the pace and out of his depth.

Convinced we should play him and RCD more to see if they can adjust but otherwise doesn't look promising.
