Can't see why he'd be dropped unless he "enjoyed" the break a bit too much.... :shh

Is he ever available

A bit like my wife...
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

RICHMOND

Notable absentees (from round 1): Bachar Houli, Jack Ross, Kamdyn McIntosh, Callum Coleman-Jones, Ryan Garthwaite

A calf injury kept Houli out of round one and the two-time premiership star seems unlikely to play in round two either. He was restricted to light duties during the week as the club returned to contact training for the first time. The dashing defender was the only member of last year's premiership 22 still at the club who didn't play in round one so emergencies Ross, McIntosh, Coleman-Jones and Garthwaite will continue to wait for their opportunity.

AFL Team Tips: Injury ‘carnage’ to open doors for young guns in R2

June 2, 2020
Fox Sports

RICHMOND

Possible line-up...

B: Nathan Broad, Dylan Grimes, David Astbury

HB: Liam Baker, Nick Vlastuin, Jayden Short

C: Josh Caddy, Dion Prestia, Jack Graham

HF: Daniel Rioli, Shane Edwards, Jason Castagna

F: Tom Lynch, Dustin Martin, Jack Riewoldt

FOLL: Ivan Soldo, Trent Cotchin, Kane Lambert

I/C: Marlion Pickett, Shai Bolton, Toby Nankervis, Sydney Stack

It appears there’ll be very little change from Round 1 at Tigerland, with All-Australian defender Bachar Houli again set to miss with a calf complaint. He’s expected to be ready for Round 3 or 4, but won’t be out there against Collingwood on June 11.

COLLINGWOOD

Possible line-up...

B: Jack Crisp, Jordan Roughead, Jeremy Howe

HB: Brayden Maynard, Darcy Moore, John Noble

C: Josh Daicos, Scott Pendlebury, Chris Mayne

HF: Tom Phillips, Brody Mihocek, Jaidyn Stephenson

F: Jordan De Goey, Mason Cox, Jamie Elliott

FOLL: Brodie Grundy, Taylor Adams, Steele Sidebottom

I/C: Will Hoskin-Elliott, Josh Thomas, Tyler Brown, Callum Brown

The Magpies have seen a pair of big names go down during the hiatus period, with Adam Treloar and Ben Reid both copping soft tissue injuries. Treloar is expected to just miss the season restart while Reid’s calf is more serious and should see him miss four to six weeks.

Article on the AFL website about possibly playing Pickett in the ruck.  Thought we were past this and hopefully it's Leppa just winding the media up.  He's 184 cm, least Grigg was 190cm.
If we play one ruckman against Collingwood we will lose.

Here's the article:

Marlion Pickett the ruckman? Tigers flirt with left-field option

By Mitch Cleary
afl.com.au
4 June 2020

RICHMOND is flirting with the prospect of throwing 184cm midfielder Marlion Pickett into a pinch-hit ruck role to replicate Shaun Grigg's premiership feats.

With shortened quarters placing question marks on the Tigers' dual ruck combination, all options remain open ahead of their season restart against Collingwood's Brodie Grundy and Mason Cox.

The Tigers played both 2019 premiership big men Ivan Soldo (58 per cent) and Toby Nankervis (46 per cent) on reduced minutes in round one but the pair played on opposing sides on Thursday.

And with neither providing an overwhelming case to play minutes in attack, the Tigers admit they may go with one ruckman at stages in 2020.

"We haven't confirmed anything with that, it's still the debate we've been having for three years and two games," assistant Justin Leppitsch said post-training.

"We liked the look of both rucks out there today, but we've got some options whether we play the old Shaun Grigg role with a Marlion Pickett.

"Like we did with Grigg, I don't think he really competed that heavily in the ruck contest, it was more having that extra midfielder and having his smarts to get an advantage.

"You're never going to get a hit-out advantage with an undersized ruckman.

"We didn't really try Shaun Grigg [in the ruck at training] either.

"I throw [Pickett's] name out there because he's one of the more mobile, leaner type midfielders who could do that."

"If he (Pickett) does play that role or we play Jack (Riewoldt) or 'Lynchy' (Tom Lynch) for bits that's a possibility.

"We're tossing all those options up now if we think we need the run, or we think we need the height."

Meanwhile, two-time premiership defender Bachar Houli is ready to return after missing round one with a calf injury.

Small forward Jack Higgins is a genuine chance to play against the Magpies after undergoing brain surgery last year.

Higgins, along with Jack Ross, Sydney Stack and Jack Graham are all fighting it out for spots in the Tigers’ matchday squad (at half-back).

“(Higgins) was probably one of the best players for the other team (in match simulation) so he really put his hand up,” Leppistch said.

Collingwood could be forced to hand 205cm tall Darcy Cameron a debut in the black and white, as Mason Cox continues to battle a niggle.
