Ive never posted the words
'Shame on you'

I dont think Pickett and Castagna should be in this side but i dont post  'shame on you'. Just a shocking thing yo write about a young man who tried to get a teammate a goal.

X 2

Obviously not the right decision but you can’t bag a young fella for playing the team game

Well unless you are a flog or have an ulterior motive that is

No ulterior motive at all. To that point of the game I actually thought he had played really well

As for your name calling...will let that slide like I usually do when it is directed at me

But I thought that effort/decision he made was disgraceful. It could have been extremely costly. Luckily it wasn't

I want to say that all our defenders were brilliant tonight.

But we cannot hide from the fact our small forwards are just putrid at the same time. Something is not quite right or not cohesive. Maybe it's over coaching? Lack or form? Poor quality players?

Undoubtedly our Achilles heel at the moment.

The opposition are flooding out back half, this is hurting our entries. Dimma said we have been working on strategies to combat this tactic however looks like we still have work to do.

Not buying that at all. Our forwards are not playing with natural instinct. It's either coaching or quality? We need another trick if the are flooding back because these defensive forwards are not getting the job done. Actually they are not getting near it.

Enough with the abuse and cheap shots

I get that I've posted something that has upset a couple of people. And the abuse (name calling) directed at me I won't be removing...

But....

Since then the personal feuds between a couple posters have started up again.

Unacceptable!

Play the ball, not the person and keep the cheap shots and abuse off the forum

Media already trying to:
Have Lynch suspended for striking Hurley
Have Grimes fined or suspended for flopping against Tipunwudi.

Unbelievable

Well it's not quality given our recent success...it's clear the opposition are flooding and we are kicking it long to out numbers. This is why we are getting repeat inside 50's. Some of their goals happened when they broke through. Maybe we need to play keeping off,  couldn't be any worse than watching the putrid games teams are dishing up this year.

The problem is that we a not coping with teams flooding against us and our smalls are not doing there bread and butter let alone score pressure and tackling.

Castagna was calling Rioli for the ball. It was Castagnas fault. Castagna was looking for a cheapie as usual and Dan tried to give him a goal and instead of criticising Castagna people criticised Rioli who was very good on the night.

I mean I think that’s a pretty poor argument. Castagna was free so he like any forward was always going to call for it. Didn’t mean he had to send a hospital handball to him. Could have easily kicked it to him for an easy set shot in front of goal. Will give rioli the benefit of the doubt that he was trying to do the team thing but sometimes when we are over doing it in the forward 50 I get a sense that the boys are trying to pass on the responsibility of kicking the goal to a teammate rather than take it themselves.

In any case not a big deal. You guys are blowing up over nothing.

Not a poor argument at all. Castagna was no good again yesterday, he was looking for a cheap goal and knew that in our culture Rioli would pass it off. It was Castagna who failed to kick the goal not Rioli.

I’m almost certain that the review will say “Dan, next time kick the stuffing goal”
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Shame on you Rioli

Absolutely pathetic

I posted the above last night and I am well aware that it has upset a few people

And I have copped a few whacks for it

In the heat of the moment we say things that we should phrase a bit better

While I stand by my comment that the option Rioli took to handball rather than kick the goal was a poor choice that I labelled disgraceful

I can understand why the quote I've highlighted has upset posters

If I offended anyone that wasn't my intent and I am sorry for that

Yes it will but there was no need for Castagna to be begging to get the cheapie and there was no need for the attacks on dan rioli by a small section of our supporters on big footy. That site is dead set the home of the unhinged and the idiot fringe.
