Charlie Cameron’s contract expires at Brisbane at the end of 2021.

But in a surprise development, 7NEWS.com.au understands the star forward is prepared to request a trade to Victoria - this year - if the 25-year-old can’t reach the right deal.

The pre-agent is a player who will become a free agent in another year, thus ticking over from seven to eight years of service and being able to leave and join a rival.

This year is different in most ways, but COVID-19's impact won't stop clubs from hunting players who are only a year away from free agency eligibility.

Playing for the Suns and not being a top 10 pick does that  :laugh:.

Lemmens actually debuted against us in 2014 in our last lost to the Suns. He use to be a regular in their line-up but has been injury prone since 2018. Now he's a fringe player.

IIRC he is contracted to Gee Whiz till end of 2023, reckon we've been into for years
