Rioli has to go before Aarts

Probably Jack R just being optimistic but he said Astbury may be a chance. Initially it was thought to be a 4 week injury but Dave looks to be moving around much better now.

No Cotch again though.

North kick long to the toward line. Recond we could keep Balta and slip Astbury back in.

Small forwards aren’t giving a yelp atm. We need that manic f50 pressure back urgently
Sydney doubled our inside fifty tackles.

No one prepared to chase and harass down there.

50 inside 50’s and the swans were just allowed to walk it out unencumbered.

Absolutely disgraceful.

Richmond 4 inside 50 tackles to Sydney's 8 so yep double

Richmond had 18 more inside 50s than Sydney so no surprise to see Sydney have more tackles inside 50 than us.

Big surprise you mean.

How pathetic of our small forwards.

Rioli, Aarts, Castagna. Bolton in there much? Seemed to be a bit up the ground. Higgins same.

Shame we don't have anyone pushing them to perform.

It tells you it's not only a function problem with our forward line, but it's the bread and butter stuff to tackling there not working hard enough coasting around.

Something I've noticed the forwards (and a lot of players do) is the swarm mentality. So opposition has the ball, maybe it's a 3 on 2 in our favour. All 3 will swarm the one opposition player instead of 2 taking 1 and then 1 getting ready for the handball to the other opposition player.
I get they're trying to create as much pressure to force a turnover, in turn also creating perceived pressure building up throughout the game. But I think they need to be smarter at times with their aggression. Teams are starting to handball and kick their way out of our fwd50 and I reckon this is a big reason as to why. Too many players attack the one player instead of branching off getting ready to out pressure on the next target

I think Astbury could fit in quite well with Balta, Broad & Grimes.  The latter can both play small roles and Balta a good match up for Zuurhuar.  Astbury to Brown.
Grimes can go to Brent Harvey...
